He almost lets the turbolift go. Almost just waits and calls another one to go back to his quarters so he doesn't have to share a lift with Marion. But it's not like he (or Marion) has done anything to be ashamed of.

He'd noticed, of course, that she's been avoiding him. It would be kind of hard not to notice; on a ship this size, just not encountering each other for a while is possible, but he knows the difference between that and outright avoiding.

That's fine. If Marion doesn't want to talk to him, she doesn't have to.

So he follows her into the lift and crosses his arms, remaining silent for her sake.
