The Doctor pulls his hands out of his pockets and in one he shows a key. He inserts the key into the lock and it clearly turns. There's even a soft 'click' sound that would indicate that the door is unlocked. He makes a big show of pushing and pulling and trying to get in, but without success.

"There's no secret code. The lock turns, but the doors won't open."
