If that's when she's from, he must be careful. Being brought here from that time would make her as dangerous as a caged animal. He stands casually, with his hands extended slightly in front of him, so that she can see that he is unarmed.

His voice while still his slightly rough Scottish Brogue, also has a gentleness to it. Mostly because he doesn't want to scare her. "I've not met anyone here from your world.
