Dax's future self hiding behind the past's version of Worf to avoid the Dax stuck between their timelines would certainly up the ante on the awkward.

The woman is a whirlwind. It takes Jadzia both herself and Dax to figure out what's going on here. Something about being unprepared for Joining -- who lets someone be Joined if they aren't ready? -- and the situation being uncomfortable. What situation? And a story that she should tell Jadzia? But obviously doesn't want to.

Okay. Start from the beginning.

"Hold on," Jadzia protests, taking a step forward and trying to be the ambassador Curzon used to be. Or the good politician Lela was. Whichever. "Let's walk to sickbay together. You're obviously upset about something and it has something to do with me. Obviously you know me, but I don't know you. So the question is... how?"

Dax can't decide if she's worried or concerned. Or suspicious. Probably all three.
