"Well, it's expensive," She replied. "I got mine through the various missions I've been on. These are naturally made materia found at mako springs. ShinRa has been manufacturing them, so the cost of them is starting to decline but there just isn't much of a need for everyone to have them."

She shook her head with a shrug. "Not everyone wants it. Materia is good in battle or if you travel a lot, as there are monsters much like the one you saw on my world. But if you stay at home a lot and don't go far from your town, you generally just don't have a need for them."
