He's going to have to drop his shields and the liquid has permeated his system too far for him to contain it any further. It makes him hesitate. So far the plant is not doing harm. Granted, not a great deal of work is getting done, but no one is dying. He just has to hope this man isn't so affected that he's unable to do much.
