In other words, Galen is going to have to do this himself. He doesn't sigh and nor does he bother with much in the way of an acknowledgement. He simply drops his shields and goes over to the plants. By touching the leaves of each he can use his sensors to analyse their make-up. Which would tell him more if they weren't so alien, both to him and his tech.
