Part of being young and non human in a place like this meant that there weren't a lot of people immedietly apparent that he could get along with. So he usually sticks to himself, and given his sleep schedule he's not up for very long on a daily basis. There are times though when his self isolation gets too much and he decides he needs to socialize.

Today has been turning out to be a terrible day for that, as today? He can sense the emotions of others. Picking up on every little bit off emotional tidbit off of people like an emotional radar, getting any good sleep has become impossible.

The worst part? None of his powers worked, so he was feeling agitated and week, as well as trapped in his feral form, unable to morph back into his more flexible human/cat form. So there he was, an emotional sponge, and letting all of those emotions from others influence his own.
He sits on one of the many couches in the lounge area of Ten Forward, glancing around at those who might come by, hoping they're not half as moody as he is.

Moody isn't the right word for what Cash is feeling. There's a layer of anxiety, hidden under everything else, and perhaps a layer of fear under that, but, for the most part, Cash is feeling — good. Better. Things have been looking up. He's still trying to transition from an incredibly violent environment to a place where he has a safe room, fresh clothes and all the food he can eat, however; that hasn't been a walk in the park.

And he's also transitioning from being something close to an alcoholic (or just a straight alcoholic, if he's being honest with himself), so he gets himself coffee — and plenty of it — before taking a slow walk through Ten Forward. Familiar faces don't seem to be in residence here. But he does make a note of the large, black cat on one of the couches, as he walks nearby.

"Uh. Hi there."

Though Cash doesn't necessarily expect anything back, he's also past the point of making assumptions. One of his favorite buddies in the godforsaken town he'd come from was a talking raccoon. And even if the cat is just somebody's pet, he's curious.

Hey hey now, he's in luck. Pete is pretty much the polar opposite of moody at the moment. Yeah, being trapped here away from the Warehouse and Artie, Claud, and Jinks isn't exactly a bowl of petunias, but he's finally starting to believe this isn't an Artifact whammy. And having Myks here helps.

He's pretty much making the best of being on the Enterprise, replicating all the weird Klingon delicacies he can eat (and many more he can't), singing in the sonic showers, fighting Gorns on the holodecks (if only he could replicate a command gold uniform to rip at just the right moment), and otherwise being the cheerful overgrown kid everyone always says he is back home.

"Hey, whoa," he says, blinking at Shadow. His filter doesn't always work all that great, but at least he looks awed and excited, not weirded out. "Dude! Sprechen Sie Deutsch?"
