She would be surprised. And perhaps people do accept him eventually, but he's impatient. And it's not the same to be accepted by people who only know one regeneration compared to the people who know several. She knows all of his faces, which puts her in a class by herself.

He sighs softly when she mentions what had happened. What had led him here. "Do you think I don't know what happened? I know what happens. On the TARDIS, she would corral me into a safe room. I should have anticipated an episode, but... I hadn't had one, so I figured it wouldn't happen."

He shrugs. "It's nothing to fear. I didn't hurt anyone and I know what I need to do."
