"The way I see it, there are two ways to be invulnerable. You can can harden yourself, cover yourself in scaly armor that can withstand the pain. Or you can face things with open arms, believing that you're resilient enough to make it through. There's a time and a place for both."
This was literal as well as metaphorical. His Sage Mode did provide such armor, but Minoru only used it when he had to. He allowed himself to be vulnerable first, and to trust in the good of others.
"We can't control what others may do to us. But we can control how we perceive it. The number of times we are hurt are nothing compared to the number of times we hurt ourselves by remembering the times we've been hurt and feeling the same old pain all over again."
