Whatever Kaylin might have said is drowned out by her joy of flight. His magic is still of a sort that hurts, and the marks are glowing through her sleeves, but she is flying. How could she complain about that? She was looking around, trying to take in all the sights at once. She knew almost nothing of farming, agriculture, ecology. She knew Tara was trying to grow carrots in the fief, but that was about it. So the sight of the parched land below told her only how high they were, and little else.
