Steve wonders how old he is. He picks up on his uncertainty and reservedness easy enough, keeping the handshake firm but giving, letting Sean set the tone. He doesn't even mention the texting device or ask why Sean can't speak; it doesn't matter. He seems like a nice kid, and Steve doesn't want to make him uncomfortable.
"Nice to meet you, too," he says, setting his hand back on his hip. "I don't think I've seen you before. You new here, Sean?"
