Freedom was an apt term and his features softened a bit with a ghost of a smile that seemed to show through with genuine contemplation. She was right. There were a lot of implications to just one word and the very mention of freedom helped calm his twisting nerves.

"You have the makings of a teacher. I hope that you'll find what you are looking for. You know, between you and me, I do enjoy flying. For now, this ship is doing the flying for me. Maybe one day, I'll take you up. Oh, and if you get the chance, you should check out the holodeck. You might be able to fly there too." He spoke honestly.

He wasn't sure exactly everything that the holodeck could do but if it could create a space through the technological magic that it created to allow them to fly as high as they could, he was certain that she could do the same.
