We shouldn't have to worry about inclement weather or wild animals, just be sure you have enough food and water for a day's journey. We'll set out immediately with the goal of getting there in the late afternoon. This is our full team; for those of you who don't know each other, we have Samanosuke," he begins, pointing at the first man to arrive (and hoping he pronounced his name correctly on the first try), and then moving on to each person in order. "Lt. Colonel John Sheppard, Jonas Quinn, Executive Officer Gaheris Rhade of the Andromeda Ascendant, Sam Bowe, and Lt. Commander Terzen T'Karr. T'Karr and I will be your Enterprise liaisons, do not wander too far away from either of us because, in the event of an emergency, we are the only ones who can beam you back to the ship."
He indicates the combadges pinned to the breast of their uniforms. In addition to letting them communicate with other officers, combadges work as a sort of tracking device so the Enterprise can lock onto their coordinates if needed.
