"Hardly," he replies with a snort. The many years may have given him an odd habit or two, and views on life that the younger generations might not readily share. After all, how many would have agreed to a treatment to make it impossible to feed on humans, if he hadn't pushed?

But his mind is still as sharp as ever, at least now that the hunger has been momentarily eased. It would be best not to waste that.
