Maybe she is a warlock despite Alec not being able to see any warlock mark since he should be freaking out but instead he just feels lost. Maybe she's Fae and had cast some kind of spell on him. "The planet Risa?"

Or maybe there's another, non magical, explanation. "Did Jace hit me too hard doing training?" That would make more sense. Jace was always pushing him harder when they sparred. There could've been an accident. It made more sense than Federation space.
