Super Secret Watch Noises

After having gotten his physical over with at sickbay (and noticing the rather concerned looks on the other two rangers faces,) Andros looked around for some place to meet. This identity thing was a real pain sometimes.He understood why Zordon imposed it on the Earth Rangers, but there were other ways it could have been handled too.Other Rangers teams didn't have the same imposition. But, to prevent his new teammates from completely having anxiety attacks, the red ranger slipped into the bathroom and pretended to wash his hands until everyone left.

And then he pressed the button on his communicator and waited for an answer.

Elsewhere, ducking under a distant table, Billy had the same idea. He lowered his voice as far as he could while still coming through clearly (he'd tested and tweaked this over the year or so).

"This is Billy, what's going on?"

Andros' voice came over the communicator. "This is Andros. Meet me in the restrooms so we can talk."

This wasn't the best place to meet....but at the moment it was the only place he could thing of that afforded them privacy. And a lock.

Adam took a little bit longer to answer since he had been in one of the corridors. He managed to find a secluded area to quickly fire off a "On my way" before heading back towards the restrooms.

At least, he hoped it was the right one. But sure enough, he got the door open and found Andros. "So what's up?"

"Yes, what is it?" Billy whispered, slipping in with an anxious look over his shoulder. He briefly had the thought that this was odd: usually at home they'd just found a corridor. But he supposed they needed tighter security here.

Really, though, sneaking into the bathroom to gossip was usually something girls did, wasn't it?

He shook his head and brought his mind back to the present. "Is everyone all right?"

Andros nudged Billy aside to lock the door.

"With all the officers here having comm badges I thought this was the most secure location. Do you think they can leave a comm badge on? They might act as listening devices."

Technically Andros didnt see the problem with talking about this in Ten Forward, but he wasn't sure just how nervous Billy and Adam were about this whole secrecy thing.

"But I thought we should talk about Ranger stuff--someplace where we actually could. I assume you two would like to keep it secret?" Andros inquired, because, well, it didn't hurt to ask. "Are you two alright? You looked a little nervous with Dr. Crusher and Dr. McCoy."

Adam shrugged, he never asked about the comm badges. Actually, he hadn't noticed them. But he nodded to Andros. "Zordon had us swear an oath. I mean, there are always exceptions but I don't think an entire crew is one of them. He sound the Power would be lost to us if the secret was out. Our world doesn't know about aliens or Power Rangers like you do. They think the monsters we fight are just that, monsters. It's probably why the secrecy is there, he doesn't want civilians interfering or the paparazzi getting obnoxious."

"That's right," Billy nodded, looking rather nervous as he settled against one of the walls. "Here, everyone knows about aliens and superheroes, so you'd think it wouldn't matter, but I have a different concern."

Billy laced his fingers together, briefly glancing down at the communicator. "I think it might still be a good idea to stay in hiding. I get the sense that security might confiscate our morphers if they knew. They did say we could keep our weapons, but they might think differently about an underage person who fights. At least...I got that sense from Dr. Crusher."

"I don't know how it works for your team's Power, but my team, didn't lose the Power. They had to reveal themselves due to a series of unfortunate events." Yeah, lets just leave it at that. "We are all still rangers. But yes, Adam, the paparazzi were rather annoying.I just want us all to be on the same page. It sounds like we might be here for a while, and have to rely on each other as rangers. But, if that's what you want, I'll continue the secrecy."

Andros took his other words in. Billy had said something about weapons. "We'll be careful. If it happens that we're exposed, don't let anyone take your morpher. Tell them to come to me. We don't want anyone else touching those. It could be dangerous."

"I think we can rely on each other even with the secrecy, it's everyone else I worry about," Adam replied, nodding to Billy's words. "Taking away our morphers or even trying to prevent us from fighting just because of our age."

He didn't want to think about what it could be like if he were made to not fight. It was his duty and he really enjoyed being a Ranger. He didn't want to give that up just because the adults thought he was too young for it.

"All right," Billy agreed reluctantly, staring at his feet for a moment. Meeting in a bathroom sure was awkward---but even it had some futuristic touches that caught his eye. It took a moment before he spoke again.

"I guess you're used to taking charge," Billy says to Andros. "How long did you lead your team?"

" I don't think they can do that. They were very specific to mention that they would only take weapons or belongings if they were deemed a threat. I think as long as we don't attack anyone or cause damage there is little they can do. But...I'll do some checking." This was more of his area. Andros was good at....checking into things. Some might call it snooping.

Um. Duh Billy. He was wearing red. "My current team? My current team? 1 1/2 years." He was guessing that Billy was doing the math and that 6 years of rangering did not equal 1 1/2 years. But, Andros wasn't saying anything unless he was cornered.
