Roommates. Man, he hasn't had a roommate since he was in the Academy. He'd argue about it if he had someone he didn't actually know, but it was Chekov, this would be great. He's only really got himself, the uniform he's got on, and his PADD, so it's not like he's bringing a lot with him.
One thing he doesn't have on him, that he wishes he did, was back on his ship. The miniature of the Kelvin that he keeps on his desk in his quarters.
He finds the room easily enough, and inputs the code for the door. When he goes in, he doesn't see Chekov right away, but then catches sight of him hunched over, furiously inputting things into a PADD. He's known the kid long enough to know that he's damn good with computers and he's---probably up to something.
Jim makes his way across to where the ensign is sitting and peeks over his shoulder.
