It's not hard to catch the discomfort off the guy. Steve's grown up reading people, knowing which ones are gonna pull a punch and which a bat, and he figures everyone aboard is probably going through something similar. This whole situation isn't ideal. Steve lives alone.
He still smiles, gives a firm shake and a respectful nod, says "nice to meet you, too," and pretends like his eyes don't follow when Andros glances at his wrists. Steve knows what a wristwatch looks like, and they usually tell time.
"So I guess we're stuck with each other," he says, going for something light. He smiles crookedly, and rubs the back of his neck. "It's been a few years since I've had a roommate. But, uh, I'm tidy and mostly keep to myself. If you hear any loud noises, I just ... like to exercise."
And for a guy who can bench 2k pounds, sometimes he gets carried away.
