[Ten Forward] Release from Quarantine and Rooming Assignments
Lieutenant Worf has gathered all of the new "guests" together in Ten Forward to instruct them on correct behavior and protocols now that they have been released from quarantine. He looks as happy and approachable as you might expect, which is to say he doesn't. It is his duty, and the captain's instructions, and so he will handle this riffraff the honorable way.
"The computer will instruct you on where all cleared-for-access decks are. You only have to ask where the area you are trying to get to is located, and it will give you clear directions. Do not visit any restricted areas. The bridge, engine rooms, transporter rooms, and all command centers are off-limits."
This is chased by a stern look to all the gathered guests.
"With that in mind, there are a few rules you must obey before I give you your new assignments. One, do not discharge any weapon while on the Enterprise. Two, do not assault any other passenger aboard in any way; that includes injury, death, or violating their personal rights. Three, do not tamper with the operational procedures of the ship. Four, do not steal items or technology from the ship. Five, do not interrupt any official areas of the ship without proper authorization, and do not invade the privacy of other guest or crew quarters.
"Copies of the Prime Directive will be made available to all of you, and placed in each room. As you are not Starfleet officers, you are not obligated to abide by this rule; however, it is important you understand why we do."
He takes a deep breath. Unless they show themselves to be undisciplined or unruly, it is the most he can do.
"Now, the rooms," he rumbles, reading aloud the list of quarters, their location, and the guests who will be sharing them.

[ooc: This post is open for everyone to tag in and meet their new roommates and neighbors, "party post" style! Everyone should participate if and when they can, so they can get acquainted with who they will be rooming with for at least the next several months. Rooms are aligned the way they would be in a typical hotel: odd numbers on the left, even numbers on the right (so 0711 and 0713 will be next door neighbors, while 0712 is directly across the hall). There is an OOC post in the OOC comm where players can connect with questions and where we'll post more details about the rooms themselves, so check in over there! Room #0716 - Shotaro and Amy
He picked himself a bedroom, and found a place to hang his hat. He left the doorway open for when his roommate appeared. The name didn't ring a bell for him, but he was sure he hadn't yet met all of the guests on this ship.
no subject
"...don't understand why you haven't found a way of gettin' us off this ship yet. I don't need a flatmate, I have a husband! A missing husband, thank you very much. Or, well, I suppose I'm the one that's missing, but that only makes my point," she says, the last words spoken from inside the doorway.
She glances around the common room.
"Posh. All right, you have my attention. Where is he?" she says, though her security escort hasn't come in with her.

Zinda's got no qualms sharing quarters, but she hasn't met any Natasha yet, and she's got no idea which one of these folks her new roommate might be.
That doesn't stop her from stepping up on a chair to scan the room for likely looking options, though.
no subject
"Zinda Blake?"
Natasha's back to wearing the clothes she arrived in (cleaned and pressed, of course); officewear with a cute blouse under her fitted jacket, and those fingerless gloves that shouldn't quite match, but she's not looking uncomfortable so no one really notices.
She'd say the same about Zinda and that short skirt, except Natasha was a teenage girl in the 1940s who'd had more than one crush on a glamorous woman, and she's being reminded of this. Fun little trip down nostalgia lane.
Clint is going to mock her so hard when she meets up with him later.

#728 -Pavel Chekov and Kate Newton
But damn he's going to miss being on the bridge and in the engines and transporter. It's enough to make his face very definitely fall. But, he supposes there's nothing for it, and sets about searching for his room, and by the way, his roommate too. This ought to be interesting, if nothing else. He hasn't roomed with a member of the opposite sex--or a member of anyone for that matter--in a long time.
Re: #728 -Pavel Chekov and Kate Newton
So she watches the crowd, instead, holding herself off a little to one side, looking as mildly uncomfortable as Kate ought to be in this situation, and keeps track of the people pairing off: the ones she knows, and the ones she can now guess.
Her own roommate must be among them, but so far she doesn't see anyone who looks much like Walter Koenig.

He goes to investigate the quarters he's to share with this Clint Barton person immediately. It's a nice enough room, but what he hones in on is the replicator. He hadn't had much chance to play with the one in the group living quarters, but he'd been meaning to.
When Clint arrives, he'll find a colorfully-dressed boy standing in front of the replicator reciting the recipe to a particular type of kimchi. Every table, shelf, and chair in the room is covered to capacity with other dishes -- fried rice, ramen, veal, whatever came to mind. He hasn't even bothered to eat any of them because he's too busy testing out the machine's capabilities.
no subject
After Clint doesn't manage to find Philip in the first while, he figures he must have been one of the early departers, and heads for his room assignment.
Clint knocks slightly on the edge of the door frame while entering. It's a habit, even if the doors around here whoosh.
"Uh," Clint says, looking at the room. "Philip?"

Room # 0724 - Aeryn Sun & Booker DeWitt
For now, she's staring at the list. Her name. The number before it.
The name after it. What kind of a name is Booker anyway?
no subject
And here he comes now, feeling a little uncomfortable about the entire situation. Not so much the fact of having to share living space, but that this isn't the army, and he doesn't have gear to unpack and arrange and fuss over. The things people use to keep themselves busy when moving in with strangers.
"...uh, hi."

Aeryn or Booker or both (after room is acquired!)
Let's be real, Darcy didn't really pay attention to the names on the list that weren't hers or her roommate. (Or the number of security personnel upsettingly close to her room.)
But it always pays to be a good neighbor! And this little stretch between security stations, that counts as a "neighborhood," right.
She knocks on the door of Room 724.
(no subject)
Room 722 - Ian and Billy + any neighbours or anyone else wandering by
"It doesn't have any windows." He went over to the outside wall and put a hand against it, but it was definitely a wall and not just a very well concealed blind. He'd been hoping for a good view, but not expecting no view at all.
no subject
As for himself, Billy didn't recognize the name next to his, but that only meant he needed to find out. So he stood outside the door and announced his presence.
"Mr. Chesterson, are you here?"

Room #729 - McCoy and Park
The name Adam Park rang a bell, but quite honestly, he couldn't remember exactly who that was. Too many people crossed his path. He'd find out eventually.
no subject
With a deep breath, he walked in. May as well get this over with.
"Hi, Doctor."

#0717 - Sorry, neighbors.
Loki's busily replicating bunches of flowers of varying kinds, while Sigyn is doing something around the perimeter of the room with the fine yarn she'd spun the other day.
Guests are welcome.
Room # 0713 - John Crichton and Eleanor Lamb
This is important.
And explains why she's walking around touching everything, staring up at points on the ceiling, moving objects around. Like any normal girl would.
no subject
So he's smiling when he walks in, brow crinkled but expression amused. "Uh... hi. You must be Eleanor Lamb? I'm John. John Crichton."
She's just a kid. Shoot, John probably looks old enough to be her ... extremely good-looking older brother. He's not going to date himself here, especially not in his own inner-monologue; though, holding out his hand for a shake might do it for him. Just be gentle on his ancient old bones, okay kid?

Room # 0723 - Andros and Steve Rogers (and any neighbors who want to say hi)
He calmly rises from his seat, and approaches one of the security officers for more information. The officer leads him to the new room. It's nice, spacious. Definitely nicer than anything he ever had in New York, bigger than his apartment in D.C., but -- different. Definitely different. He lets his bag slip from his shoulder, and spends some time looking around the common room.
For Steve or Andros or both
But it always pays to be a good neighbor! And this little stretch between security stations, that counts as a "neighborhood," right.
She knocks on the door of Room 723.

Caspian and Katherine Barlow (and any neighbors who want to say hi!)
Still, this is funny. They've put her in a room with a fella? Two unmarried individuals sharing quarters? Oh, the impropriety! Kate's never invited a man to her room who she didn't have certain intentions for. It's just not proper.
"Well, this'll be somethin'."
She gets up, and starts looking for Caspian.
Re: Caspian and Katherine Barlow (and any neighbors who want to say hi!)
He oughtn't to be difficult to find, with the way he's waving her down, smile flashing delightedly across the room. If there's some part of him that's at all unhappy with the arrangement, it doesn't show as he joins her. "By Jove, that was a lucky draw, wouldn't you say?"
It's possible he's not entirely aware that this rooming assignment might mean one room. Singular.
(no subject)
Steph Rogers & Mirielle (or whoever else!)
Some polite questioning of the nearest officer has her escorted to the room. She smiles and thanks him before opening the door, left alone when she peeks into the empty room. She's rather glad for the solitude when she gets a look at the magnitude of the space, eyes wide. Bigger than the old Brooklyn apartment she grew up in. Actually, it's a good size bigger than her current Brooklyn apartment.
Steph whistles, low and soft and impressed as she takes her first step inside the room.
no subject
He said everything's going to be fine, so it will.
"Good--is it afternoon? I think it is. I can't really tell, here."
She's apologetic about it, at least.

Room # 0714 - Butch Cassidy and Jack Twist
The very first thing he does is find somewhere to hang his hat.
The second thing he does is get himself some bourbon from the replicator. He hasn't been able to get any Old Taylor, but this other stuff isn't bad, even if he does have his doubts about its origins--he'd gotten an entire bottle of it once, and the label had two moons on it, and he's pretty sure Kentucky still only has one. Maybe there's a whole planet named Kentucky out there, just to make bourbon. It would stand to reason.
The third thing he does is--well, actually, that's all he does.
Re: Room # 0714 - Butch Cassidy and Jack Twist
So he's at least plenty focused on that bottle of bourbon, once the door whooshes open to let him sulk his way in.
"You got another glass?"

Just give her time. The art will be increased.

#727 - Sinthia Schmidt - Open to Passersby
Sinthia isn't sure she should complain about this, since she is the only one that gets that much room to herself. She'd find it funny if she didn't feel so alien walking into a place like this, feeling small and insignificant, neither of which has she ever felt before, and neither of which is she entirely prepared to handle at the moment. She makes a request of the replicator, which gives her several notebooks and pencils with which to draw her kind of drawings; Sinthia doesn't spend much time drawing organic pictures. Not like dancing monkeys or rainbows, no--she draws gears, their abutments and toothed designs merging seamlessly into intricate toys.
She also has none of those. but she saw one once and it was pretty.
no subject
Oh, they're not visible. But they're there all the same.
Mireille has gotten a bit overwhelmed, unable to remember Mr. Parker's room number--turned the wrong way in the hallway, and here she is at the door, looking a bit lost.
