Jim had been finishing up some coffee before heading off to see what else he could help out with aboard the ship, when the man had asked the other crewman for an explanation. He seemed to balk at the guy, and---well, he guesses it wasn't a stretch to expect it. He was a big guy.
And that was without the very impressive armor and hammer he was carrying around. He was already up, about to recycle the cup back into the replicator, and headed over to introduce himself.
"Midgard? I'm not sure where that is, but---" Jim stopped, getting a good look at the guy's face, and his train of thought was completely derailed. The man looked like his father, George Kirk. He mentally shakes himself and tries to find his voice, eyes squeezing shut briefly.
"But this is a starship, USS Enterprise 1701-D. I'm Jim Kirk," he offers a hand to the one that isn't holding a ---very large hammer. Okay.
