[Sickbay]: Round Eleven Scans and Vaccines

There's something different about Sickbay today.
If you are new to the ship, you may not notice any difference at all; however, for those who have been on the Enterprise for a while, it's impossible to miss. While, usually, the ship's CMO is on duty to assist new arrivals and the rest of the medical crew, she's nowhere to be seen. Dr. Beverly Crusher of this universe and timeline has gone missing. While the crew work to meet this new challenge, Dr. Julian Bashir has stepped in as the ship's interim CMO, with all the duties and responsibilities that entails. Here's hoping this is an easy day in Sickbay...
For those entering for the first time, no doubt you've been escorted here by the security team. You may be surprised to see that it's a fairly ordinary-looking hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you might see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones. As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly — even the more unusual aliens.
There's nothing to worry about, the doctors just want to make sure you aren't carrying any viruses or are vulnerable to catching new diseases. Once you've been checked over — a quick scan from a tricorder and any necessary vaccines — you'll be free to go. Lollipops are optional.
"All right, step on in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be afraid. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
[ooc: Sickbay is, as always, OTA and open for backtagging! For new characters: tagging isn't mandatory but IC going to sickbay is. If you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. Since Dr. Crusher has been apped as a PC this month, she will not be seeing any patients until she decides to resume her responsibilities as CMO. Julian Bashir will be taking her place as head of the medical staff for the time being, so if anyone needs to thread fallout from that or ask him questions, he will have a toplevel you can tag. For everyone else getting standard checkups, tag in specifying which doctor you would prefer in the subject line of your tag, otherwise one will leap on you as they are available. There is a post up in the OOC comm with more details about Sickbay and which doctors are on deck this month, if you have any questions.]

The captain actually escorts her down to sickbay himself, knowing well of her mental state at the moment, and it's easy to see why. Not only does she look older, but she also looks as though she's been through hell. And she's probably been crying recently, though she'll deny that if asked. Most notable are the 2373-era uniform she's wearing and the complete lack of a combadge pinned to that uniform. The captain has that, given to him before he could even ask for it. Beverly is well aware that she isn't fit for duty, though it shows in every move she makes, the tension in her body and wariness to her gaze.
When she steps into sickbay, she has to take another minute to adjust. The last time she saw this sickbay was before the Enterprise-D crashed, when she was helping evacuate her patients for the starship separation. And then the crash had happened. She'd never thought she would see this sickbay again, yet here it is. She swallows hard and takes another step forward, avoiding looking at her captain entirely. Her eyes will give her away and she does not need him asking about that.
"Doctor Bashir?" she calls, somehow managing to keep her voice calm and even, despite the tremors coursing their way through her mind. She knows he's going to find the serum in her system and that will be very difficult to explain. It won't turn up as anything they've ever seen, but she's still got her tricorder with the original scan she did of the syringe. It was enough to determine that whatever it was wouldn't cause harm to anyone who injected it. That was the only reason she agreed to it herself. The idea of even talking about that sets dread in her, but better start this with a Starfleet doctor and her captain than someone unknown.

Trever is proceeded by his cat. Veena teleports into Sickbay once again, after she "fled" requiring Trever to "chase after her" thus allowing him to escape Sickbay after being brought there for shock when he arrived. She holds her tail up in the most imperious manner possible, and considering she's a cat that's pretty imperious. She prowled around before situating herself on a biobed where she began grooming herself industriously.
Because cat.
About a minute later Trever himself enters. While he isn't happy about having to leave his gun in his room, he still has his knives and he's excellent at improvised weaponry. Sure no one has actively tried to attack him and it seems pretty peaceful. But that NEVER means anything in his opinion.
Ever.
At all.
Especially if he's in a place where some god is bringing in people randomly.
If you don't mind things moving a little bit slowly, have a Wraith?
Not at all...^_^

Kitty tried to look relaxed as she walked in her eyes darting around at those walking past. Her wolf still prowled at the surface waiting to come tearing out of her body. She held it in well but coming here was far to much of a shock for her.
She decided to wait with her back pressed to the wall trying to see if she could catch someone's attention who wasn't busy with work.

The people here seemed pretty used to this sort of thing happening. He's not sure he likes that. He still thinks Q is pretty damned rude for doing this kind of crap. He's pretty sure Q already figured that out though.
He's gone through enough checkups in his life, especially in recent months with talk of this experimental surgery, to know how this sort of thing goes. He makes his way in, heading over to where they told him an empty biobed would be, stopped as his cane tapped the edge of it, and climbed up to sit. He quickly broke down his cane, and set it down beside him to wait, hands in his lap.

They both needed just a smidge of help, too. She loitered around the doorway, unsure who to talk to. She wasn't usually shy but doctors still made her nervous.
