It's entirely possible the person who had caused this little challenge wasn't going to show up - that didn't matter. Really after the fun of having a third puberty - grant it only the second he remembered - he needed a distraction. So he'd been cooking more and when challenge to make something "really hot" he'd worked at it until he had something not only incredibly spicy - probably far more than most people could eat - but also flavorful. There was actual flavor, not just heat to the pasta he'd created.

And then he'd send word that this dish was ready and he'd put it together in Ten Forward. Over the last few days, he'd mentioned it here and there and towards the evening, he popped his cooktop into a girdle-type base and set up on a table to start cooking.

Winner gets bragging rights. It's only a moderately sized plate of pasta, how bad can it be right?

It's probably just food prep safety that has Magneto and Annie wearing gloves. Couldn't be the spice levels at all. And the cooler to the side that contains ice cream? Also not a warning.

"Yup. Among other things." Alec is in one of his 'I don't mind telling people I'm a reality warper' moods. He tends to bounce between that and being cagey about it. Which is rather silly of him because eventually he tells everyone anyway.

Besides, it's not like it matters. They can't not make him do it if he doesn't want them too.

Sort of the definition of a reality warper, innit? At least in his eyes.

"Among other things?" Kevin's heard of mutants with several powers - look at Rogue - but he's never really met one.

Then again, he's barely spoken to anyone on board. After his disastrous talk with Emma Frost - Summers, whatever - he's been sticking pretty close to his own quarters. He's only coming out because Mr. Eric had extended a personal "invitation" that had sounded half-threat to him.

And he still hasn't met one.

At least not in this reality.

Other realities it's questionable.

And in some it's true.

Best not to ask.

Really.

Though considering Alec's ears, it's reasonable to assume he might be a mutant.

"I wasn't born with the ability to warp reality. That was... gifted to me by ... individuals of power that I accidentally pissed off," Alec explained. It's really kinda complicated. "I was born with the ability to manipulate the four elements and some empathy."

He held up a hand and wiggled his fingers. "Plus a fantastic iron allergy, pointy ears and an inability to grow facial hair in a reasonable amount of time. But I blame my fey ancestor for those three."

Kevin is utterly confused. The man has an odd way of speaking and Kevin's just not sure how much he believes. He knows that there's something to do with Fey and the X-Men - some of the Excalibur adventures are pretty well known.

But he's not sure how much he believes of anyone right now.

"How were you gifted?"

"You mean how did they give me the ability to warp reality? I got complete remade from the ... everything." He stared at his hand idly, flexing the fingers. "They ... rewrote everything about me."

Kevin's not the most socially savvy person in the world. However, even he can tell when he's overstepped a little. "I'm sorry. Didn't mean to pry. Never met a reality warper before." He's truly apologetic.

Alec waved a hand. "Eh. It's nothing. I'm not who I used to be - but then again who is who they used to be? Life is change. Mine just got really changed. Most people don't believe me anyway."

And he honestly sounds like he believed that bullshit he says. It's possibly more of a if I say it enough times I'll believe it sort of thing.

"No? You wouldn't call Q one?"

Kevin snorts. "Never met him. Just showed up here. That's not endearing him to me." Even if he had gotten him out of the FBI's custody. "Got a few back home but never had a chance to meet them." Unless you counted Josh as one, and Kevin didn't.

"Mm... true. Not that you'd want to meet him." Alec gave Kevin a bit of a studious look, almost like he's trying to pick him a part. The intensity of it is quite a bit at odds at his slightly dippy way he'd been acting a moment before.

But then it vanished and the burble came back. Waggling his fingers a little - bits of rainbow colored sparks coming off the tips. "So what's your interest in us? Scientific curiosity?"
