The great hunt...
After this conversation...
Veena is moving carefully down the corridors of the Enterprise, stopping at intersections and looking around before proceeding in a chosen direction. She's walking with a much more determined purpose than that of a normal cat. Just a short while behind her, Trever follows.
Trever is loaded down with a super soaker rifle, two squirt guns with removable magazines and a bandolier with reserve magazines for the handguns.
He appears to be hunting something.
Sneaking up on him is a bit of a bad idea because he'll likely spin and shoot you with green dye.
Or, occasionally you might come across him barreling down the hallway chasing after someone while screaming curses.

"No, I'm Ginny. And you're not my brother Bill I thought you were either, Sorry, I don't know I'm pretty much indifferent to this shirt"
She was more worried about if her chest was now going to be stained green.

The concoction Kale used to make the dye was developed by their older brother. While it might not seem like a chef would be good at these sorts of things, to be a professional chef you needed to know how ingredients interacted with each other and how to be able to substitute for missing ingredients. And of course he'd want to make a dye that stained...
"I'm Trever and that's a good thing because it's probably permanently stained." He scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
Noticing that her human had started to talk to someone, Veena came over to inspect Ginny, her tail held up in the air like a proud cat would.

She has older brothers and he somewhat reminds her of them. She notices the cat. "I think your pet missed you. Why are you going around shooting people? With green stuff..."
no subject
"Well, shooting someone with just water is sort of boring. I mean there's no real incentive to avoid it. You'll just dry off. Now getting shot with green dye on the other hand... "
This makes perfect sense to Trever. The idea that staining things and people is a bad idea hasn't really - nor would it really ever - occur to him.
Trever only has the one older brother but twelve aunts and uncles that he was raised with - the youngest whom are only five years older than him and a few months younger than his older brother.
He glanced at Veena, "She's checking you out... be careful, she's trying to turn the entire ship into her loyal minions." Veena flicked her ears at Trever as she continued her examination of Ginny.

"I see and yeah I guess that's true. But you know sometimes people could just do this."
She flicks her wand and frowns with it just seems to become brighter green. Welp that wasn't supposed to happen...
no subject
He raised an eyebrow at the wand work (mostly because he's never seen someone use a wand to clean their shirt before) before innocently continuing, "If it could be easily cleaned by magic, it also wouldn't be worth avoiding... though as far as I know the recipe doesn't make it greener when magic is applied to it. It could just be a poor interaction between our differing magics."
no subject
"Yeah, I didn't realizes that you were magic. And you're right. It wouldn't be a nuisance if it was easily removed. I didn't think about it, It's just and yeah I would say mixing magic would be a cause..."

Meanwhile Ginny has a happy cat.

Ginny asks as she stays stooped scratching Veena because that she knew how to handle. To be honest mostly she had contact with only magic users but she wasn't sure about this place.
no subject
Well, up until the point that Veena teleports. Which she isn't going to do right no. She's got a human paying attention to her so what else does she need?
no subject
She would totally be surprised if the cat did that.
"That sounds interesting."
no subject
"That's funny, because I've been finding worlds like yours just as fascinating," he said.
no subject
She said thinking.
no subject
Possibly not for the reasons why Ginny thinks so. His is more tactically based. If he knows about other people's worlds then he can figure out how to counter act them.
For example, for Ginny, taking her wand away is probably the best way to negate her magically - but he's not sure if she can do magic without a wand. Wands aren't necessary for magic in his world after all.
no subject
She then looks at him and she would be pretty unmagical without her wand. But stealing a witches wand isn't that easy.
no subject
Trever gives her a bit of a blank look, as if he doesn't realize he's said something off. And yes, stealing a witch's wand isn't easy, but Trever is trained for that sort of thing.
Not that he would do it.
Unless absolutely necessary.
no subject
"People just vanish and sometimes come back? But other times they are just gone?"
She's not sure this sounds like a good thing she puts her wand back but she seems to be on guard.
WHY DIDN'T YOU POST STUPID COMMENT!?
Trever is pretty relaxed. Sure he's armed with all the squirt guns (and a knife) but her guard doesn't seem to be noticed.
Seemed to be.
Re: WHY DIDN'T YOU POST STUPID COMMENT!?
"That's true, and we can hope that they are going home. So what do you do when you're not splattering green stuff on unsuspecting people?"
no subject
A vet who enjoys shooting people...

She then looks down at the green spot.
"Or at least you have the element of surprise."
no subject
Trever grins. "Always expect the unexpected."
no subject
She grins up at him. "If not you get surprised."
