Ginny Weasley/Harry Potter (be Gentle please easing back in Will get slow times soon)

Ginny looks around as she steps out from her room. She looks around she was still getting the hang of this. It's interesting, not like Hogwarts. But not bad. She's meeting interesting people.  That's always good in her mind. She starts to wonder the hall.

Minoru needs to meet more new people!

Cue another interesting person, a man trying to make some sense out of a PADD. From the frustration on his face and his choice of clothes, which looked closer to a martial arts uniform than anything in the current stardate, it was pretty clear Minoru was from a world or time where technology like this just didn't exist.

The fact that he was hanging upside down from some pipes along the ceiling? That was the interesting part.

Ginny was walking as she then looks up noticing as she leans her head to the side to look up more. This was odd...

"Hello?"

"This thing made more sense as a shiny coaster." Minoru shook the PADD and turned it in a couple different directions. When he heard Ginny's voice, he glanced down (or perhaps up, depending on the point of view).

"Oh! Hi."

"Yeah? You think so?" She blinks as she looks at him leaning her head to the side

"What do you mean?"

"They said it has all the information we need about the Enterprise and its missions." He sighed, just hanging there for a second. "Can't seem to get any out of it."

Talking to it like the replicator didn't work, and pushing buttons got him even more lost in things he didn't understand.

"Maybe, you're doing it wrong? I don't know I mean really you don't have to listen to me about these things. I don't know"

She just watching him hang upside down.

"Oh, I'm sure I'm doing it wrong." He laughed. He turned it back around as something finally came up the screen. "...tribble? What the heck is a tribble?"

The real question, of course, was less about tribbles and more about whether someone else could help him figure it out.

Ginny then looks at him.

"I don't know maybe what's it look like"

She asks and then tries to see what he's looking at

He flipped the PADD around, showing a picture. As if that explained anything.

"I think it's a living thing. So it's kind of closer to what I'm looking for." He added. "I was hoping to find something on snakes around here."

Wherever here might actually be in the universe. Minoru wasn't sure about that. Did this Enterprise ever land anywhere?

"Why do you want to know about snakes?"

She asks looking at him after a basilisk she wasn't sure she liked anything that had to do with snakes. And let's not even go over Nagani.

He held the PADD between his teeth as he flipped himself up, grabbed the ceiling with his hands and dropped back to the ground. It was better for a more proper introduction. It dropped back into his hands once his feet touched the ground.m

"Because I'm a Snake Sage." He grinned, nodding his head in a bit of a polite bow. "The name's Minoru."

It was an odd occupation, even in the world where he was from - kind of a cross between a ninja, a monk and a shaman. But the emphasis, and the nature of his powers, was entirely based on snakes. (Ignore the fact he has a habit of climbing on things like a monkey.)

"I'm Ginny." She then looks at him as she tries to figure out hat that means, looking up at him.

"That sounds very interesting, So you like control them?"

She's not sure she likes the idea of this.

Sure, the Daily Prophet might have said '...serpents are often used in the worst kinds of Dark Magic, and are historically associated with evildoers.' But to Minoru, there were no greater masters of healing and rebirth.

"Control is such a harsh word." he shook his head. "I can summon them, and they almost always do what I ask. But it's still their choice. No one willfully disrespects their teachers..."

Minoru scratched his head. That was a lesson learned the hard way in his younger years.

"It's their abilities I study. Try to unravel the mysteries of life, and see what I can adapt to help more people."

"Do you speak to them?"

She asks softly, is this man a parselmouth? She's not sure how she feels about the possibility of that. But she has to remember he's not of her world.

"I know you don't but that doesn't always happen or always listen."

"All the time." he answered. Only the Lord Elders and higher-level summons could talk back, but the others had their own way of understanding and communicating. He had an affinity there.

He laughed a bit at the other comment. "On the bright side, there isn't a mistake out there you can't learn from. Right?"

None of those mistakes had killed him yet, obviously. Though, it can be assumed he's built up quite a resistance to snake venom in the process of making some of them. The rest were handled with pure, unbridled optimism.

"Do people talk to snakes where you're from too?" His face lit up at that thought.

"Yes, well not as much now but there are some that can talk to and understand snakes, it sounds like hissing and mumbling, but to those doing it it sounds like normal talking like this to them."

Or that's what Harry said.

"That's interesting."

He hadn't really thought to consider whether other people heard the snakes the same way he did. Whenever he conversed with the Great Snake Lord Elders, Minoru was at Ryuuchi Cave, and he was the only human there. The vast majority of the snakes he summoned elsewhere didn't speak, but they understood him and answered in their own way.

"Do they adopt snakelike abilities too? Or just the language?"

It was the first time he referred to it as a language, so that part definitely didn't roll off the tongue.

"Just the language, well I dunno Voldemort looked pretty snake like."

She thinks about that for a moment, but she didn't think that was really the pareselmouth thing she thought that was he was rudding mad.

Minoru thought about that for a moment.

"I don't suppose this Voldemort person ended up here..." He pondered hopefully, no way of knowing the many, many reasons why that would be very, very bad.

"I would think not, But if he is you can't miss him he's pasty white, has no nose, hair and red slits for eyes, he looks like a snake."

He has absolutely no idea how bad that would be.

Minoru gasped. Another Snake Sage, perhaps? They were so few and far between, even in all his travels, the thought of meeting someone who shared his powers and the philosophy of his teachers had him very excited!

"You mean kind of like this?"

It took just an instant for him to activate his Sage Mode, taking on the characteristics of a snake - from the white scales and fanged teeth to the purple markings around reptilian eyes. He did have hair, though. Lots of it. But two pairs of horns stuck out from the wild mane.

Ginny gasps out as she steps back slowly looking at him, that was a little too much like Voldemort. Even if he had hair and horns,

"Yes, A lot like that. "

He didn't stay in the form long, as he lacked the natural energy to replenish his powers up in space. But it was long enough, given Ginny's reaction, for her to get the idea.

"I'll have to ask the Great Snake Lord Elders to open a portal to your world at some point." he grinned.

And here, he hadn't even heard of the Basilisk in the chamber of secrets, the infamous Nagini, or even a class house with a snake for a mascot.

[Always pictured Minoru as a Slytherin, much to the annoyance of every other Slytherin. He's like the Hufflepuff of Slytherin.]

"Yeah, I see. well if you like snakes my world is full of the things."

or it was.

Minoru just grinned. Eventually, he noticed, "...You are definitely not as excited about that as I am."

"No, I would think not. Reptiles aren't really my thing." She said but has no malice and a small smile.

[itmeanstruth]

Minoru could definitely understand that. Not everyone, unfortunately, shared his affinity with snakes.

"What is your thing?" He asked, curious to get to know her better.

"I like Kitties, they are fun. Quidditch, but I don't expect you to know that."
