ten_fwd | From Malfoy Manor To Outer Space? (OTA, TW for torture and its effects)

At that moment in Ten Forward a young woman was winked into a world very different from the world she knew as a witch.

Her jeans were badly frayed, her sweater badly damaged and hanging onto a much too thin frame. Her hair was badly tangled and she was covered in cuts and bruises. She also looks like she's not slept in ages among other problems. Anyone could see something had happened before Q winkled her aboard the Enterprise but how bad was it?

But a couple of things would stand out despite the darkness: the wand currently tucked behind a few loose strands of blonde hair and especially the jewelry. Mostly since not many people would openly wear what looked to be a pair of radishes as earrings.

But when Luna Lovegood realized she was not in Malfoy Manor or even the Wizarding World her eyes seemed to regain some of that lost light. "So curious! Maybe there are crumple horned snorkacks or even moon frogs here!" she weakly giggled. But she kept a very wary eye on the scene around her, a Death Eater could be lurking around any corner ready to hurt her once again (she was skittish but with very good reason). Thankfully she knew her wand was within reach but her wrist was also killing her pain wise.

She did eventually whisper,"Harry? Ron? Hermione? Anyone here?"

"Bill?" Luna finally asked, part of her sure the guy with the cat was indeed Ginny and Ron's older brother. "Where's Fleur and when did you get a cat? Don't remember anyone saying anything about one."

He's been called that before.

"Do you know a Ginny?" he asked, ignoring the questions for right then.

"She's a friend!" Luna briefly lit up, hopeful that maybe she was not in this place alone.

"Yeah? We've met... she thought I was her brother too," Trever said. "But, I'm not. I'm Trever and that's Veena."

He leaves off the bit where he mistook her for his aunt and the fact that Ginny looks much older than Luna here.

Meanwhile, Veena wanders over to her and sniffs her like any good kitty would.

Thankfully Luna was quite at home with cats thanks to so many friends having them around. So she let Veena sniff her hand and added,"I'm Luna and well I was sure this was all due to a backfired spell." leaving out the escape from Malfoy Manor among other things.

Veena rubs up against her and purrs happily. Nice to meet you and all.

"No. I'm afraid it wasn't. Though that's what I thought when I first showed up here, too."

Luna took this as a good sign and petted Veena,"Veena's a sweet kitty. And spell backfire was the only thing that made sense. Now I know its something so much more." But the blonde looked as miserable as she felt, granted the damaged clothes were just clues.

"It does make sense. And you look like you've been chewed up by a dog." Might as well get to the elephant in the room and all.

This was the question Luna dreaded but she had an answer, sort of. "My friends had just broken me and two others out of the manor. We were heading for Shell Cottage after some on the fly treatment when this light snagged me."

"Ah. Well. You look a bit scraped up, so we should get you to Sickbay. They've got good doctors here," Trever said, not asking how or what happened. She doesn't want to tell, so that's okay.

It's not his business. What is his business is to get her to somewhere safe and looked over.

Veena reaches up to see if Luna would hold her.

Luna scooped up Veena as she spoke,"Sickbay? Is that anything like a healer?" she finally asked. Plus if she was being truthful the idea of a muggle healer was a new one given her being from a very magical world with little muggle contact (at least beyond people like Hermione's family and some of the things Ron's dad had mentioned).

"Yeah. It's where their healers are... well, they don't have any healers, they've got doctors."

There are healers and doctors in Trever's world. Two different disciplines of medicine. Though some can be both.

Yees... good human.... you too will be hers. Veena purrs in her arms.

Luna explained as best she could,"Healers are what we call doctors in my world." But she also knew at least mentally Trever was right, she needed actual help.

Trever has seen hurt people and he's seen beaten people - he's caused that in some people - so he knows when someone needs to go see a doctor.

"Doctors and healers are two different kinds of medical professions. You can be one or both. But we're not in my world either."

And thank Morrigan she's willing to come along with him to sickbay.

Luna nodded,"In my world its mostly a catch all term for magical doctors." she explained. But she finally added,"A few people have explained it, I'm not in the Wizarding World but on a ship in the future."

"There's no magic in this world - I should warn you before we get very much further. There are people here with magic, but it's not here naturally," Trever said. "It was a big shock for me when I learned this."

"So the only people like us are not native? But its strange since my magic still works." Luna's eyes almost bugged out. "But at the same time it can only be a learning experience to live among muggles, non magical people as my world would explain it." she added to explain the term for Trever.

"As far as I can tell, yeah. I'm not even going to bother to try and figure out how it works. That's way out of my degree range. Though I'm sure there are others here who could probably tell you better than I."

Muggles. What a funny word.

"We don't have any non-magical people in my world."

"Its a curious question but too advanced for us at the moment." Luna observed, for a split second the true girl who embraced learning came out but quickly went back into hiding. "Your world is pure magic? Curious and one I want to learn more about." cracking a rare enough smile.

"So I'm told it's curious. But yes. Everyone has magic. We all have our own particular knacks," Trever said. "I'd be happy to tell you about it."

"Notes and stories must be traded!" Luna weakly giggled. But she asked,"My world mostly has wand and potion based magic, is your world the same way?"

"We have potions and ritual magic does use wands but it's not necessary for our every day magic. My particular knack is to have animals understand what I say and I can understand what they say," Trever said.
