This was not Risa. It didn't take much observational skill to figure that one out. Which was... interesting, since she had most definitely been relaxing on a beach there moments before.

She sets about trying to assess the situation as soon as she can. She knows Federation construction when she sees it. Even without a grandson in Starfleet, it paid to know the major powers of the quadrant. She knows the Federation well enough to realize that these hadn't been the standard uniforms for quite a few years.

From the stories Nog had told, there could be quite a few explanations for that. And she has every intention of getting one. Quark's right. Everyone lovest he bartender. So that's exactly who she starts off looking for.

As she walks, her eyes dare anyone to say something about a Ferengi female in clothes walking around the bar like she's debating owning the place. Though she's not really giving it much serious consideration. If this is actually a Federation vessel without a lot of contact with outsiders, there'll be no profit in it.

"1701-D. That's Picard's ship." Nog had spent quite a bit of time telling her all about Captain Picard, even if he did prefer Sisko.

She shakes her head. SHe's been hearing stories about Starfleet from Nog. "Why is it always time travel with Starfleet?"

And the biggest concern. "We're not going anywhere near Ferenginar are we?" Because Ferenginar in this era is not a place she is keen to go. She lived that once already thank you very much.

"Yes, Captain Picard is in charge of this ship." Alex arched an eyebrow at her. Curious. She knew some of this history then. Was what she knew square with what was going on? Very curious.

"I think its because Starfleet dares to investigate where most turn away. So sometimes, well, that doesn't work out."

He listened. "Uhm, I'm not sure. We can probably check at a computer panel in the hall?"

"If we're before the reforms, Ferenginar's not a particularly enjoyable place to visit." At least not for the women on board. And from what she knew of Picard's ship, there were a lot of women on board. Women in clothing with responsibilities.

"They managed to run into time travel just taking Nog to the Academy." He wasn't even actually in Starfleet at the time. There was clearly more to Starfleet and time travel and just looking.

"Oh? I haven't heard much about that place yet." He glanced around, then glanced back at her. "This place is a good place to be, most of the time."

Alex nodded. "Seems to happen to a lot of people at the time."

"Ferenginar had a lot of stupid traditions. I've lived through them once and I don't much care to do it again." Who could blame her? She'd worked hard to abolish the worst of them. And she was supposed to be enjoying her retirement.

"There is definitely something about Starfleet." You never heard of Klingon time travellers. And they'd probably leave a mark on history.

"Ah. Yeah, I can understand that. Makes sense to me.' Alex smiled to her. Alex chuckled at her words.

"Starfleet seems to explore and seek out new things, and somehow manages to find it.'
