Parrots.

Oh gods.

Parrots everywhere.

Veena is going nuts and Trever hasn't been able to control her.

Hence there can be found around the ship, the sudden fearful squawkings of parrots as a black cat teleports right onto them. And then is knocked off... and then chasing after... followed by another attack... lather, rinse repeat...

Followed by a rather exasperated Trever.

But dude.

Parrots.

"That sounds fantastic. I'll have to get Kale to check it out."

No one really believes Trever or any of his family members when they tell people about the kittens. Until they meet them.

"Yup. It's like cats multiplied by ten."

Veena is purring rather smugly about this.

"No wonder you guys are well versed in makin' stills."

She shouldn't laugh. Cats are cats are cats, and teleporting and magic just sounds like all kinds of terrible trouble.

But she's tipsy, and it's entertaining, and so she is laughing.

Trying to hide it, but laughing.

It's actually nice to see her laugh. Since he hasn't seen her do it very often. Sure it's because she's drunk but, it's nice.

"Yup. We're almost ready for our first real trial too."

She doesn't laugh that often in public. Not any more. Nervous giggles, yes, but not genuine amusement.

(The media tearing someone to shreds does that, a little.)

But here, it lights up her face, turns her lovely.

"Oooooh. That'll be excitin'. Bet you're gonna have a bunch of folks ready to try it out, too."

Trever understands the media tearing people to shreds thing. They do it to him a great deal of the time. You can't be royalty without it happening. He's developed a thick skin

There have been a few broken noses...
