youwillbe: (It's not easy being green)

The streams are now crossed

It would be easy to miss Yoda's presence. He is, after all, only 0.6 meters tall. People have to look down to spot him.

Of course, to anyone who does look down, he's rather unique looking. Small. Green. Wrinkly. And, for some reason, dressed in the sort of sailor suit a toddler might have worn in the 1920s. Zelien had been hard on clothing, and for someone his size, replacements were... ecclectic.

This wasn't the swamp. After the business in Zelien, Yoda was expecting to finally be back in the swamp and spending a few years contemplating everything.

It seemed the Force had other ideas though. Except... something is wrong here. He stumbles slightly as he steps forward. "Quiet here, the Force is."

And without that connection to the Force, he really remembers that he is 881 years old. And that's hard on any body.

In an instant... Oh, oh, Padmé hadn't thought... But she knew that their union would bring no children, and she also knew just how much they had wanted them. She nods, softly, yet firmly. "I don't doubt that for one minute. Leia- then Luke went to Tatooine? To the Lars household?"

She could well understand the logistics behind it, as she had made certain to keep Bail's name off of the list of 2000, but it also saddened her to know that her own family would never know her children. So many things that should have been different... "Yes, with everything that had happened, I don't doubt that."

No doubt more had happened since her death, and likely nothing that was better, only worse. And the Jedi? Oh, Padmé knew they had their own sorrows, and yet that they would still think about her children. "... I am sorry to hear about what happened to the Jedi. No doubt safe places would have been hard to find."

She wouldn't lie. Towards the end, Padmé had started to question the system that she had believed in since she had been young. The ongoing war, the inability to reach a resolution... In hindsight, those things did fall in to place, but it was only then. That a man she had respected so much had been instrumental in so much that she had stood against...

No doubt he would seek to use her children, to perpetuate his plans. Yet she was sorry to put more of a burden on him, on those who would no doubt need to remain in hiding, lest they be found by the agents of Palpatine. "That does mean a lot to me. Truly. There are few others I would trust as much."
