Holodeck | OTA

Noriko is not often in the holodeck; for someone used to being surrounded by fairly powerful telepaths, she isn't altogether sold on the benefits of a hard-light room on a spaceship. She's okay with the Danger Room, but that this place is not.

However, today she's been in there for a long while, making a program (simulation, actually) and is running it over and over up to a point--that point being her getting shot twice in the back. With a thoughtful half-scowl on her face and her uniform on, Noriko is pacing the frozen holographic scene, glancing around and halfway gesturing as if to walk herself through something.

She's currently walking herself into a bout of horrible re-run feelings and useless anger, please do interrupt.

So far in his wanderings Raiden had only heard about the holodecks, but had yet to come across one. Perhaps it was the lack of distinct markings on the doorways, but he's also uncertain how he feels about the idea of a simulated situation. Illusions were one thing, but to have it created by technology? The mortal capabilities in his own time were not yet advanced enough to create such a thing. All the more reason he found himself curious to see this new and interesting phenomena in action.

A few wrong turns, and then finally he came across a set of doors that matched the limited description of the holodeck exterior. He has not been educated yet in how to tell that one is currently occupied, and so he taps the entry pad out front and stands just to the side of the doors as they open. Not knowing what to expect, he moves to stand inside the doorway and looks around in calm curiosity.

No worries :)

As such, that calm curiosity gives way immediately to a defensive posture, hands dropping to his sides as he takes a half-step back and takes in the scene of panic. He notices the one girl trying to usher the others out, and then sees a duplicate standing calmly to the side. It takes no extra senses to tell which one is the tangible one.

The scene stops, the immediate quiet is almost eerie as his posture relaxes. Nodding his apology for the intrusion.

"I did not realize this was occupied."

"I did not know I should." He offers a small shrugs of his shoulders. He gives another glance at the frozen scene before him and nods again.

"I had only hoped to observe one of the decks in operation. I did not mean to interrupt."

"They are interactive, then?" A far cry from movies, and even many of the games the mortals in his own time play. A screen was hardly what he would call 'immersive'. He's also playing a bit oblivious, curious to find out what he can from someone who clearly has a better idea at what she's doing that he would on his own.

"Such technology is only in its infancy, where I am from." He responds to her question about artificial intelligence. He walks over to a wall created by the program, setting a hand there to test how solid it is and is impressed.
