He did not intend to abandon his champions, but the Lin Kuei had still ambushed them after his departure with the greatest of their number at his side. At least he isn't so distracted that he misses her words. He nods to acknowledge them, though he doesn't return her smile.

"Time does pass differently, even between realms." He appreciates the supportive hand on his shoulder, but is surprised by the kiss. He glances out of the corner of his eyes toward her, not used to the expression from others, mortal or otherwise. Lightning flickers in them briefly, as he can't decide if it's unwelcome, or simply to accept the gesture.

"We shall see what future each of us makes."
