OTA - Father's day storm

Ailyshia's temper was bitingly cold. She had never used a holodeck before, had no clue what one was, but she had been passing one when she heard a familiar voice, one that chilled her to the bone. She stopped, and for once ignored the instincts that told her to just keep walking. She went to the sound of that voice and the man she saw.... he should be dead. Not Demon Dead, just dead. Whatever happened to everyone who bore the taint, he should have gone with them.

She hadn't seen him since she had left home. And now she was faced with him, well away from home. The air around her froze. Theiorn stepped between her and the man, but it little mattered. His whole attention was on her, and she saw nothing but him.

"Well," he said simply. "You've grown up."

The strength of Theiorn's shields were all that kept the room from exploding. As it is, he fell back against them, way from her. He tried to push to his feet, but maintaining his shields against her frozen rage was all he could manage. "SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO TURN THIS THING OFF!" he roared into the corridors, having a sense that whatever brought whoever this was, wasn't magic.

Ailyshia was snarling, trying to blast her way through the shield that was keeping her from blasting her father to a very fine ash.

OTA - On the Planet

Ailyshia had been in a foul mood ever since she saw her father, and was not allowed to kill him. She was just barely able to tolerate any males at all because she was finally convinced that he had, more or less, been like a tangled web. Not actually there. Just a cruel trick preying on her mind. But after that, she needed time on the planet with the plants.

She would be avoiding any unknown males there, and her work area is shielded around her, so anyone who tries to approach will not be able to touch her. Her gold eyes are filled with angry tears and furry as she works with a single minded determination.

Locked to Raiden (and Minoru if he wants, since that wasn't plotted, but would work!) and backdated to when the planet trip was announced.

The Queen was resting, excited about the upcoming trip, but he knew she was trying to convince herself not to offer aid. Which would destroy her emotionally, since this - even more than ruling the people - was what a Queen was born to do. But spending a week in the sun again so soon might well finish the kill. so after shielding their quarters, he went searching for one of the few males here he could trust. Raiden. If he saw him or Minoru, he would stop them.

"Prince. May I speak with you a moment?"

"There were a whole bunch of acres tilled by a woman doing earth jutsu." He happily remarked of Kuvira's recent handiwork. (He was unfamiliar with the tem 'bending' but had seen her technique before.) "Would that help you feel more comfortable?"

"If you went there and bothered her instead of me?" she snapped. "Yes."

At least Minoru wasn't just standing watch. He was working alongside her, planting seeds. None of this powers would do much to help them grow, but he could get his hands dirty and farm the old-fashioned way.

"I've still got an entire bag of seeds to plant over here. And I promised Theiorn I'd keep watch."

What he was watching for, though, he had no idea.

"I don't need him and I don't need you," she snapped. "I am perfectly capable of defending myself."

"Of course you can defend yourself!" He nearly laughed.

Where he came from, wood style was so powerful an art that it was revered as godly. It was a form of senjutsu, a Sage Art. In Minoru's mind, that made Ailyshia a Sage. A Black Widow was a Spider Sage just as a Dragon was a Snake Sage. She definitelu didn't need protection!

"But no one can focus their chakra on a task this important and keep watch at the same time. That's why I'm here. So you can focus on doing what you do - giving life back to this planet."

She glared at him. He was making sense. Worse, he was sounding like the First Circle - the very few males she could actually tolerate. That group also included the far smaller set of males she actually liked. A grand total of two who were human, and one of those was winged at that. Kindred males didn't count. They were soft, furry, and didn't want anything from her that she wasn't willing to give. None of them were a bit like her father.

But she still glared. Because he was making sense, and because he was reminding her of males that she did trust, and she didn't want to be reminded of them now, she didn't want him to make sense. She was angry, and she needed to hold on to that anger, to cling to it, to keep her safe. Because without the anger, she was just afraid, and she refused to let fear color her psychic scent while in the presence of a male.

"The guard from a distance, Prince, I need some space," she snapped. Her voice trembled. She fought, trying to keep her limbs from trembling. She refused to let him see her fear, refused to let him see her cry.

She'd asked for distance, but he could hear the trembling in her voice. He also knew the sound of fear hidden behind anger. It was more in his nature to come closer, but he ignored that for now. Instead, he took a few steps back, dropping some of his seeds as he went.

"I trust your strength. You should too." He smiled simply, giving her more of the distance she'd requested.

She glared at him, then turned away and moved further off from him, to work on her own.

Minoru let her go, doing just as he said he would do. He kept watch from a distance, continuing to plant seeds and let her work.

When she was finished, she would let him know.

She pulled he shields around her, then added a sight shield and a aural shield, basically becoming invisible and impossible to hear. She just needed.... some time without males watching her.

Minoru let her do what she felt she needed to do. As the sun began to set, he took one of the candles he stashed in a sealing scroll and lit it with a small fire jutsu.

"Even Sages have to take a break eventually." He grinned as he walked back toward where she last was. "You need anything? Water? A good meal?"

He was hungry, but that was a constant that went without saying.

She dropped her sight shield and her aural one to glare at him, but she did seem somewhat calmer than she had been. Nowhere near as calm as she usually is when surrounded by plants, however.

"There's not much to watch for right now. Everyone's packed up for the night." He noted, getting a good look at everything around that she'd helped make grow. He could feel the natural energy in his seal at full capacity. That, and the feeling of such life around him made him smile. "You do amazing work."

She gave a small shrug, still somewhat emotionally raw. "I am a Queen. I've done no more than what any Queen should do."

"Doesn't mean it can't be amazing. Life, just like hope, is a wonderful thing." He smiled.

Ailyshia looked like she had something she wanted to say, something that went far deeper than her usual jab at males. But Minoru didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. He was there if she wanted to talk, but he wouldn't press the issue.

"You all right?"

"I have not had a single day of peace since I arrived. I spend most of my time away from the Land. How could I possibly be alright, Prince?" she snapped.

And she saw her father. Mostly it was that she had seen her father.

He glanced around. For now, except for the stars that dotted the sky, they were all alone. Everything was peaceful and the land beneath them was filled with life.

He answered with a soft smile, "If you forget to savor what you have while you're focusing on what you don't want, you'll miss all the moments that add up to the days."

"There is little to savor," she said, sourly.

"Of course there is." he urged her to simply gaze around. She could probably sense it in ways he could only dream of. "We're on a world!"

He took advantage of the fully re-charged seal and let loose some of the natural energy it had collected. Here, he was free to activate his Sage Mode whenever he wanted, without having to worry about his power source running out.

The enhanced senses he had in this form helped him appreciate the world even more.

"Yes, we're on a world, something we should be on constantly, and is now a special surprise trea... WHAT THE...." she jumped back when she saw his Sage Mode, careful not to harm the plants.

"Oh!" Minoru chuckled nervously. He scratched his head, just beside the horns. "...You haven't seen me like this yet, have you... It's okay!"

She had her powers. He had his.

The only person she knew of that could do that, anything like that, was Witch. And he was not Witch.

"An illusion?" she asked, cautiously.

He was not a witch. But he was a Sage. She was a Black Widow and he was a Dragon.

"No, no. It's real." he assured her as he took a few cautious steps forward. "This is what I use natural energy for. I can't give chakra to plants the way you do, but in this form, I can give my chakra to people who need it."

"You mean magic. Right?" Yes, she was more than a little thrown by this, especially after a strenuous day of planting. She stumbled, her heel turning as she crumpled. She was shaking all over, though most of it was exhaustion. Her Jewels were dull in their settings.

"Same concept, different words." he'd come to realize. He did notice her exhaustion, and hoped the shaking was due to that and not fear. (He half expected her to show him her Spider Sage Mode, but maybe she didn't have another form.)

"I can help you, if you want me to. I can give you my chakra, my energy."
