Calling all small children! (And maybe some adults too)
Henry had finally left sickbay after what seems like an age. But he's still very wary of everyone and is carrying around his large backpack again rather than leaving it in his quarters. He also appears to be looking for something. He's peering around corner and opening doors and certainly not striking up conversation with anyone. Which, for anyone that might have gotten to know the boy through his time here, is unusual for him.
Any other children that come by are welcome to help him look, because he'll tell them what he's looking for. Any adults are also welcome to chat but he's not giving away his secret to them.

He's being cagey, she can tell, and her brows crease for a moment. "What are you looking for?"

"No one's dangerous here."

And honestly, she's not very sure most people count as dangerous here. If she doesn't find them so, she highly doubts they'd be that bad for anyone else's health. (This does, notably, discount some of the questionable presences here. Like Bucky. Because he managed to scare her, and that takes talent.) "I don't understand the premise."

To Henry, there's dangers everywhere. The different races from this place. The different people coming and going because of Q. And of course, the imposter Gold with his magic.

Those concerns were put on brief hold when he noted the way the boy was acting in a peculiar manner in the hall. Closing the distance after a few seconds of observation, he finally spoke up. "What is it you're trying to find?"
Perhaps the boy was playing a game with one of the other children which disallowed one to use the computer to locate whatever it was he was seeking.

He kept facing him, wary. "Why do you care anyway?"

There was a small sigh from the boy and he moved to sit down on the floor against the wall of the corridor. "Why do you want to help me? You're not my dad and I'm not..." your grandson. But he couldn't say it. "What do you get out of it?"
no subject
"Who says I need to get anything out of helping you?" He's helped Henry before without requesting payment, even before he knew that Henry was his grandson, but of course that is still far in the future, provided it even happens, for this particular boy.

This is why he is taking a walk. He wanted to work out his own feelings of unease. Andrew hates the idea he might stumble into danger. Bernie has followed him. The big dog seems to be set on not letting Andrew out of his sight.
As he turns a corner he spots Henry. He tries to smile but it doesn't really work. "Hello."

"I broke my foot," the younger boy admits. "But it's.... okay now. The doctors here are really good at what they do."
He shuffles slightly. "I don't like it here."

"I'm sure we'll find something."

Once he was, he peeked into the room the kid was currenly looking in and asked in a hushed voice, "What are we looking for?"
no subject
"Nothing." He said, not bothering to whisper. "How long have you been watching me?"

He's a pretty average-looking guy, for an adult. He's wearing his IASA flight uniform, patch displayed proudly on his jacket's lapel right beside the one that says "FARSCAPE", an American flag patch sewn on the sleeve of his right arm. He grins at Henry, stepping out of his way. Hey, you never get between a kid and his mission.
"Sorry about that. Are you looking for something?" he asks.
so super duper late but I wanted to reply so they can officially have met
"It's fine. Thanks."
ooc: no worries at all! happy to continue or handwave as you prefer now. <3
"Yeah, sure," he grins, eyebrows pinned together. "I'd hate to get in your way. Just, uh, be careful. I think I saw everybody's favorite Klingon security chief pass me down the hall."
John's got your back, kid. Just don't do anything he wouldn't do.
... Okay okay, don't do anything illegal.
i hope handwaving is okay since this is so super old
sure, no problem!
"You got it," he says, before continuing on his way.
Cute kid.
