When the man winks into the middle of Ten Forward, something strange happens...
He doesn't react badly; doesn't look around in confusion, but he does glance around with mild disinterest. He doesn't ask where he is, doesn't panic, doesn't... well, do much of anything, really.
Instead, he just walks over to the windows to stare out at the stars.

"Something tells me this isn't your first space rodeo," he comment and sticks out his free hand, "Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard."

He turns to look at the man, glancing down at his hand, taking a moment to remember the human custom from when he descended with Sam, and taking his hand to shake it.
"My name is Orlin." He says, voice still the symbol of neutrality. He doesn't seem the need to cover up his name.
"The stars... are different."

He shakes the others hand firmly. "Yeah, this is a whole other galaxy for me. Are you an explorer?" He thinks this may account for Orlin's calm acceptance of a space ship.

"Do you know how I got here?" Because his curiosity is piqued. Not many beings, if any, are more powerful than an Ascended Alteran. Maybe, perhaps, the Ori, but they didn't have this kind of power.

"You never know what you might encounter."

The term "Asgardians" piques his interest, too. Did he mean the Asgard?

Because, really, John? What did you expect?

Comes the response. Sorry, John; This guy is really good at not giving information at all.

He had a very different welcome in mind for any replicators that dared to cross his path.

"What are they?"

Yeah, those sound familiar, although Orlin is careful to keep any sign of recognition from his expression.
"I assure you, I'm not a machine." Although, he's describing the Asurans in pretty good detail. This marks John as someone from his own universe. "Though, I'm curious... Where did you come across these machines? They sound fascinating, if it weren't for the infection fact."

"We met them on a planet, and they took exception to the fact they were no longer the Ancients favourites."

A pause.
"Who are these... 'Ancients'?"

John remains cautious about giving the secrets of Atlantis up. It's location is secret, for a good reason. "Have you heard about the lost city of Atlantis? They spawned the legend of it on earth, it seems that when they left their home, earth made a great second home."

He knows the answer, but is intending to keep the conversation going... it's good practice, if he was expected to interact with the lower planes.

"What's left they are scattered, divided, leaderless." And yes he did just quote Lord of the Rings.

This is remarked off-hand. It is, of course, completely untrue. With the Others in the Milky Way, on the higher planes, it just simply wasn't in their interests to keep a presence in Pegasus.
