[1st Transmission]- Emma Swan- Ten Forward|OTA

Emma looked around, nerves suddenly on edge. She had been about to walk into a study with Henry and Regina, and suddenly she finds herself someplace strange and new, and unlike anything she had ever seen.

And that is saying something, considering who she is, and where she comes from.

"Seriously?" She said, out loud to no one in particular.

She walked down the winding hallway, and when she paused,a door opened with a swish, and revealed a bar. It was a type of bar that Emma had never seen before.

"Where am I now?"

"Starfleet, though it was about one hundred years before any of these officers even thought of entering the 'Fleet." And a different timeline, but he wasn't really going to get into that at this point.

"It's a pleasure, Ms. Swan."

"Then Emma it is."

Chalk it up to the military training. 'Ms. Swan' was the proper way to address her until told otherwise. He felt, at least with his rank aboard this ship he should set an example.

"No, I was a captain of one of her predecessors though."

"NCC-1701. The first one considered to be the 'Fleet's Flagship. First mission was right into a warzone."

Then he realized how that must make the Federation sound, "This is the NCC-1701-D. It's a popular name. It's mostly used for exploration now."

"The real pioneers were Jon Archer and his crew, they were the first ones to fly a ship with this name. It was experimental ship, they were the first ones to get out in space."

And that made him surprisingly proud to know Jon, for as little time as he did, T'Pol as well.

"My Enterprise was used for a rescue mission that wasn't quite as successful as planned."

"The Federation lost seven ships, each with a crew complement of a few hundred, and a planet with about six billion Vulcans on it."

But they'd stopped the madman, and managed to use his technology to strengthen their fleet. Some Vulcans made it out alive, but not many. Spock was right when he called them an endangered species in his log.

"We arrived after the other ships were already destroyed. My helmsman forgot to take the parking break off."

"Leaving the Parking Brake on and trying to fly the ship? Usually."

Pike was a pilot himself before deciding to go for the Command track. It was something most young pilots did once, usually in flight simulators. Sulu was just nervous.

"Looking back though, it was probably the best thing he could have done. Most of the Enterprise's crew made it out of all that alive."

"External Inertial Dampeners. Same thing as a parking break."

Her second comment surprised him a bit. I wouldn't have pegged Emma as someone who would have lost many, if any, people fighting.

"What do you do back where you're from?"
