First Entrance!
When I was a little girl, I had an imaginary friend. And when I grew up, he came back. He's called the Doctor, he comes from somewhere else; he's got a box called the TARDIS that's bigger on the inside and can travel anywhere in time and space. I ran away with him, and this is the story of how he changed my life...
You know that lovely sound a TARDIS makes? It's sort of a whoosh, or a hum, or a whoom-WHEEEM, rwhooom-REEEM? Some would say it's the loveliest sound in the universe, because it means something wonderful is coming.
Only this time, there is no sound. Just a step, and a little stumble, and a brand new room.
Amy blinks, freezing in the middle of Ten Forward.
"Doctor?" she calls, glancing about. "Rory? Doctor! Rory!"
Oh, what has he done now? If this is a joke, she's not going to laugh. Frankly, his sense of humour is abysmal. "Where am I?"

The rapid-fire questions come from someone who's less worried about where she is, and more annoyed with whoever's done this. As if it's all happened before.
Because, you see, it has.

But he is pissed off, so I doubt it was him."

Does she have to clean up everyone's mess? For god's sake, people. Who lets them have their own ships when they can barely tie their own laces?

"They haven't got a clue how to send us back?" she asks, turning back to Natasha. "How long have you been here?"
no subject
Wry.
"I'm trying to work out if my boss will accept 'was abducted by aliens' as an excuse for blowing my deadline."

It's funny, that line about alien abduction. Amy might laugh were she not used to it happening on a near daily basis, but at least her alien had the decency to try and then fail to get her back home on time.
She presses her hand to the side of her head.
"S'all right. The Doctor will know what to do, soon as he shows up," she says, certain on the subject. "What's your story, then?"

She has another look about, this time with far less desperation.
"You're right, it is," she says, smiling faintly. "I mean, not this ship in particular, but the travelin' and adventure bit is. Getting to see things you never thought you would."
For just a moment, she lets herself remember the first day she stepped into the TARDIS, and the sure feeling of the Doctor's hand around her ankle as she floated out in space.
"Still, somebody could have asked," she gripes.
