A Wandering Thor appears!
(In the few hours after this)
Today has been a day of odd occurrences, and just enough of them to make Thor thoughtful. The arrival of the new strangers, and the conversation had with one of said strangers, had made Thor remember Orange County, a lot, and the feeling one would get there, right before something very odd had happened. Like an alien invasion, or half of Anaheim becoming Wonderland, or evil twins showing up, or even sex-swaps happening. That feeling would not leave Thor, now, like an itch at the back of his mind, and a prickling of his the hair on the back of his neck. Something odd was up.
For Thor, it had been a truth that if he got this feeling, if a day like today happened, then it meant that something odd this way came. And usually, something not very nice, really. His hand had been on Mjolnir more than not, not really because he wanted to use it, but because he had a feeling he might need it. Maybe. He sighed. Maybe he was just getting old. Having been in a coma as long as he had, and having the memories and physiology that he did, he would not doubt that.
It didn't help his feeling of something odd that he was feeling a bit run down. He normally didn't get tired. At all.
And now he was a little. Odd. This perhaps made his thinking a wee bit muddled. And so he was wandering, thinking, and passing through the ship almost on autopilot.
(ooc: Okay, dokay! Here, have an infected Thor, but not yet Kiddified, wandering the ship. Feel free to have yours encounter him in any of the open areas, from turbolifts to the shops. remember that skin contact is necessary to pass the infection, so that will need to happen if you want your pup to catch it from Thor. Slowtimed tags and backtags are more than welcome, and placeholders are fine, as well, if you don't have time for a thread right now.)

Time to get infected~
Yuna smiled, appearing in front of Thor as if she materialized out of thin air. She was smiling wide. She last few months had been pretty fantastic and she's been happy on the ship. It wasn't so strange anymore as long as she didn't think about it for too long.
Her brows furrow as she looked up at Thor. "Are you okay?"
He didn't look well though Yuna couldn't really tell if something was wrong. He just looked tired.
no subject
He clapped a hand to her shoulder in greeting.
no subject
"You look like you should sleep. Why don't I walk you to your room? How have you been? I hope you're settling in okay."
Her smile brightened.
no subject
He chuckled. "I feel like getting some fresh air, actually, my friend. Will you walk me to the botany section instead?"
no subject
"What sorts of plants are they growing there?" She looked up at him. "Do you know?"
no subject
"I do not. I am hoping they have something familiar to me." He liked plants.
no subject
Yuna stayed by his side expecting Thor to fall asleep on his feet at any moment. She might be able to carry him except he looked very heavy.
no subject
"Perhaps I will get some tea afterwards and take a nap."
no subject
Her gaze glanced down the halls. She hoped they were heading in the right direction. She been on the ship for over half a year and yet some thing still looked the same.
no subject
"Do you like flowers?"
no subject
She stayed standing looking around the garden with a smile. She took a deep breath of air with a smile. "On the island where I grew up. There was this blue flower. It had four petals, two were long and two were short. I always thought it looked like a butterfly."
no subject
Thor smiled.
"Many have tried, almost no one has ever gotten there."
no subject
It was an interesting story and had Yuna been in Asgard she'd have tried it, if only to see the flower.
no subject
He rubbed his chin, the tiredness slowly growing in him.
"I have often wondered what it would be like to go see it."
no subject
Death and injuries on her world were very different. They could heal those who died if they are able to do so before their soul leaves their bodies.
She looked over at him curiously. "Are you sure you aren't tired?"
no subject
Thor grinned at her. "Oh I am tired, and even more now that I'm sitting down. Maybe you were right. I should go back to my room and sleep."
Thor rose, slowly, and nodded.
no subject
She watched him curiously feeling a little bit tired herself. Perhaps his sleepiness was rubbing off on her.
no subject

no subject
"Thor?" she asks, looking plainly startled. She'd been on her way back to her room from the gym, and is dressed in yoga pants and a t-shirt, her hair pinned up with curling wisps falling around her face.
Then she smiles.
He's still moving like Thor, so he's not a doppelgänger. She hopes.
"When did you arrive?"
no subject
He extended his hand and arm to her, one warrior to another, and his grin only grew.
"I have been here but a short time, my friend. It's been a rather odd thing to adjust to. When did you manage to appear?" He had spotted Bucky, who he knew from home, more than from the dreams, but he would not speak of that, yet. Not until he knew what she knew.
no subject
So her smile is warm as she clasps his hand.
"I've appeared twice," she says. "First was about a year ago, then I was sent back to our universe. Then I arrived again about six months ago? With Steve. I've even got my car parked in one of the transport bays."
Her beautiful, beautiful car.
no subject
"Huhn. It seems like this Q likes to play games a lot with us all." Then he paused, and a slow grin came over his face. "Your car is here? Now that is an amazing car."
He chuckled. "I've often thought that Asgardian engineers could take a few lessons from some Earth designers about the aesthetics of their designs."
no subject
(Of course she's taken him for a spin in her car. It's her baby. Not as much her baby as her Glocks, but one of the family.)
"Q zapped us here while I was driving," she says with an annoyed huff. It'd been a test of her brakes that she hadn't really wanted. Then she smiles. "You say this now, have you ever seen Soviet architecture from the sixties?"
It's a tease, though, that much is clear in her throaty voice.
no subject
Thor chuckled at her words, but also answered. "You know, I have not. Perhaps some time you could show it to me?"
no subject
"But there are other places in the former Soviet bloc if you wanted to see in person. Making things ugly and functional turned fashionable, it was horrible."
no subject
He nodded to her words. "Very well."
He chuckled at her last words. "People of all places seem to have such times. There are some older buildings in Asgard which make paint even not want to stay on the walls."
no subject
She looks at the pictures, and then hands it back.
"Of course, what's missing are the rows upon rows of monotonous apartment blocks. Those are depressing. But to be generous, I guess that's the same most places."
no subject
For all he knew, they could have. Stranger things have happened.
"I would wish to take you and the others to Asgard someday. I love the city, even if it is not my home anymore, not really." He nodded. "Midgard calls to me like a forgotten song."
no subject
(She is, after all, what and who she is.)
"I'd love to see it," is what Natasha actually says, and she's being honest. An alien city? For a woman who has been a geek for seventy+ years?
Yes. Yes. Please.
"And not always a bad thing, recognizing your old home isn't one anymore."
no subject
He nodded again at her last words. "You may be right. Another lesson for me to learn when I had thought I had learned more than enough. Midgard and it's champions teach me much, and I am in awe of you all."
The head nod he gave her then was almost a true bow, despite being a head nod, for the respect and honor in his eyes.
no subject
"We're always learning. But it makes life interesting."
And she's going to, provided she doesn't get killed, have a long one. But...
Maybe between Steve and James and, now, Thor, she might not be as lonely as she'd always assumed.
no subject
"I know that now. Not too long ago, I thought I had become much better and stronger, and now I know I will be learning more until I die, I hope."
He nodded.
"Perhaps we could spar sometime, when you are free."
no subject
"We could," she says, thoughtful. "If you're careful with me, Odinson."
She's tougher than a normal human woman, but still. She's not exactly an Asgardian.
And yet, sparring with an Asgardian? She might be able to push herself a bit more.
(And now harm in learning how to fight one.)
Hoping you don't mind a late tag-in...
"Hey Buddy," he calls out as Thor comes near. "Any chance you can point me in the direction of the gym?"
Not at all!
"There is a gymnasium on Deck Twelve, just beyond the Sickbay. Has anyone shown you how to operate the turbolifts here?" He waved a hand toward the next hall, where there was one.
no subject
"Is it anything like the replicators?" From the sound of 'turbolift' it sounded more like another word of elevator, but Steve wasn't taking anything for granted. He wasn't interested in being shimmered into existence somewhere else. "If so, stairs would work."
no subject
At the other man's question, he shook his head. "The turbolift is far more intuitive and accepts voice commands."
no subject
Steve was okay with technology once he knew how it worked. Voice commands though were relatively new to him, available in his time but not something he'd used.
Curious, Steve asked, "Have you been here long?"
no subject
It's late and she's frustrated at the day, that is like every other day. But she does say. "Try not to run into that wall."
no subject
His stance is that of a warrior, even when tired. Thor tries not to always be his dream self but somethings are not to be denied.
no subject
"You new?" It wasn't exactly friendly, but it was at least a question and not just walking off again.
yes infected from Thor please and wow I thought I'd posted this
The rest. They are almost-friends. Maybe-friend. A something. A possibility.
And one of those found himself with new responsibilities. Coupled with the local brass arriving and he was feeling something. He didn't like change, this was true, tended to regard it with suspicion but there was a feeling of unease he couldn't shake.
Old man you are being paranoid, he couldn't help but think. And it was in this state trying to talk himself into forcibly relaxing that he came 'round a bend of a corridor. A tug on his senses drew his head up, sharply.
Mjolnir. Thor. Another possibility. At least one he somewhat understood. "Thor. How are you finding the ship?" It wasn't polite, idle chitchat to take his mind off his current feeling on unsettlement, but genuine curiosity.
No worries!
Nonetheless, he nodded to the other. "And you, have you found this place a good temporary home?"
thank you
"It is good." It's a break which he needed. There aren't the strong reminder of the loss of Genosha, which he knew there would be at home. The lingering scars of the nuclear weapons used would last for a long time. "I do find myself longing to take a walk or a flight, but I think I'd terrify our hosts."
He was still temped to do it.
