Marking Terroritory (open)

After discovering there was another cat on board (albeit a furry and less evolved version) Cat was not happy. Although she hadn't got the better of him, he'd completely failed to show her who was boss. This wasn't Red Dwarf, but it was still his ship, as far as he was concerned. Fortunately, there was an easy way of making that clear.

He'd had to prepare and build up his stock. It wasn't something he'd needed to do for a long time - he'd got used to being the only cat around. He'd replicated some small spray bottles he could secrete about his person and taken them into the bathroom. Now he had enough - for the moment anyway - and he set about spraying their contents around the ship.

"This is mine," he said, as he sprayed the floor of the corridor. It did make it smell slightly of cat wee, but as far as Cat was concerned that was how it was supposed to smell.

Oh dear god... ROFL

When Minoru walked down the hall to their room, he noticed the smell immediately. He wrinkled his nose.

"Wow, did someone sign a contract with the ninja cats? And then let them all loose?" He muttered to himself. Isamu's main summon rarely marked his territory, but when he did... Yeah, it smelled like this. And Minoru absolutely hated the amount of washing it took to get things back to normal.

It got more intense when the doors opened. His roommate had a spray bottle in his hand.

"... What the... Cat?"

Minoru smiled through a wrinkled nose. "Thanks!"

He looked around. Or rather, smelled around...

"Did you have to spray everything else?"

Well, it certainly put Cat's claim on everything in that room (and the hallway).

He had to admit to himself that it didn't smell as strong as snake musk. That could stay with you for days. But snakes typically used that only for defense when they're frightened, and rarely were snakes frightened of a snake sage. (Except that one time he surprised Aoba with a fire jutsu. That tunic never smelled the same again... And Manda laughed at him for three weeks straight.)

"Does it matter?"

"Ohhh..." Minoru hadn't seen the other cat yet, but that made a lot more sense now. He assumed when he found another area of the ship that smelled like cat pee, he'd know where she lived.

The smell of their room, though, would take some getting used to.
