A Doctor walks into a bar [Open]

Eleven saw Clara's name on the rooming list during the holiday party, and he found it odd that he hadn't seen her as of yet. Maybe she was spending time with one of the other hims, and he planned on ignoring those feelings of jealousy that swelled up in his stomach thinking about that.

So, since everyone winds up in Ten Forward at some point or other, that's where the Doctor planned on spending the foreseeable future. Eventually, Clara would appear, or Amy, or maybe someone else that he hadn't talked to just yet.

Eleven sat at a table near the window eating his favorite food, fish fingers and custard, something he assumed someone would question him on. Maybe. Eventually.

Cridhe has been doing what she can to meet and spend time with people other than those from her universe. She can control an manipulate the whole of time and space. She can literally see them whenever she wants. (Well, within reason. Reason being whenever the Doctor and/or River aren't using her.)

She can't resist when she sees Bowtie. He has his bowl of fish custard up to his face at the moment, so she chooses that second to slide into the seat across from him. She rests her elbow on the table and supports her head in her palm and just watches him.

And times him to see how long it will take him before he notices someone is sat across from him.

A couple of tables over Kristen was simply people watching while nursing her tea and going over the pros and cons of eye surgery via PADD. But when she spotted the unusual combo of food at the Doctor's table her interest went up and her research set aside for now, this could only get interesting. So she went with a more light hearted approach,"Never saw that on a menu before?"

It took Eleven a solid minute to realize that someone did, indeed, sit down across from him. So, he lowered the bowl and went back to dipping the fish fingers into the custard.

"Hello."

"Sweet and savory all at once," he said with a smile, "can't get much better than that."

Then he stopped eating for a second before offering her the seat across from him, "I'm the Doctor...and cool glasses."

He'd always wanted a pair like that. Maybe he'd replace his brown round ones with that kind of style instead, not that he needed any of them.

"Sixty-Seven seconds. I have forgotten how focused you can be when you choose to be."

Yup, she's going to talk to him like he knows who she is, because she's been around long enough she assumes word about her has gotten around. Even Q knew who she was... That was bothersome.

"I'm Kristen and thanks, always had a soft spot for the 50s honestly." Kristen grabbed her tea and PADD before she joined the Doctor. "Ever try French Fries with chocolate sauce? Heard of someone trying that one at the office." she offered.

Excuse his surprise, but the last time the TARDIS was a woman, she didn't look like the one sitting across from him right now.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I know you."

Word may have gotten around but it certainly didn't get to him.

"Ah, well that's the problem: you spend far too much time thinking and not enough time knowing."

She smiles, but it's somewhat playful. Oh having facial expressions is so much more fun than just making various sounds.

"There are those who would call me your wife."

The moment Henry saw Eleven, he swelled up with happiness. Though he had to tell himself that this was a new place and the time lord might not know him. He watched for a while deciding what to say when he finally did walk up to him.

Eventually, he sat down opposite the man and greeted him as if they did know each other. Hopefully this Eleven wouldn't mind Henry using the nickname he'd used before.

"Hey Theta."

"You mean the 1950's, right?" It was always best to check those things before he gave too much away. There were a lot of '50's' over the years.

The tea and PADD were something he made note of, but not something he was going to ask about yet.

"Oh, no I haven't." But the idea seemed like something he'd really enjoy.

"Yes, cue the jokes about looking like something from a sock hop." Kristen joked. "And I tried it, turns out its not a bad idea. But then the one about fries being dipped in mayo was just too odd to consider." she offered.

Wait, his wife. He had one of those...no, no, he had two of those assuming you didn't count Marilyn or Elizabeth the First. She wasn't River, he'd seen all of the Rivers. As far as he knew his first wife wasn't anywhere to be found. Then it dawned on him.

"OH...again? You're a woman again?"

Amy better never find out about this.

She grins broadly.

"You know, it never gets old. The way people react to me."

She stands and turns around for him.

"So, what do you think?"

Eleven's almost non-existent eyebrows rose up to his hairline. That's a name he hadn't heard in centuries, much less someone calling him that name.

"How do you know that?"

Henry practically grinned. To anyone else, Henry might have shrugged it off but it had been Theta who had told him a lot of what he knew, so he just rattled it off as his answer.

"Before I arrived here, I was stuck a pocket dimension in which people from different points in space and time were brought on a train. Quite similar to where we are now only within a city setting with very limited technology. Within it, I met you, or a version of you and I refused to believe you had the name Doctor as that is more of a profession. So you asked me to call you Theta instead."

He's forgotten how much fun it was to have more information than other people. And even more fun when those other people don't think you're crazy for telling them that information.

Bars are important places. You could learn a lot in them. Meet a lot of people. Customers.

Ishka does notice the fish fingers and custard. That is definitely a new one. "I'm not sure I'll ever completely understand hewmon food." Surely that can't be popular.

He could only imagine the teasing he'd get if Amy did find out about it. He'd never hear the end of it, ever. It'd probably be worse if Clara found out.

But, he does look her over, "It's nice. It's good. Everything...matches."

She sits back down and grins.

"Yes. Amazing what can be accomplished when I have actual control over such changes to myself."

"Oh, no. I'm not from Earth."

Which would probably explain why his food choice was so odd. But he wasn't offended by being called the wrong species. Humans did look Time Lord after all.

"It's much better." Though her hair reminded him a bit of River's. "Though how did you go from that to this?"

TARDISes and flesh bodies didn't mix well as far as the Doctor knew. Then again he only had one experience with that.

That at least started to explain it. Though it was still a very odd looking dish. "Does your planet have a limited collection of ingredients available?" If this was the result of improvise just to get something new, that was more understandable. You had to try to come up with new things sometimes.

"There are a lot of 50's through out time. More of a point of reference." Since he had, by this time, seen almost every single one of those 50's.

"Chips and Mayonnaise is good. There was a place in 21st Century New York that made some of the best I've ever had."

She nods once in appreciation. But this time should be much easier to explain, since this version had experienced these things far more recently.

"The House had a great deal of knowledge. I retained some of it. And then we encountered the Flesh."

She shrugs. Because that should explain everything. At least it does as far as she's concerned. Though, the Doctor might need a little more.

"I think I'll be trying that one." Kristen cracked a smile now. "How about nacho cheese sauce or BBQ sauce?" adding a couple of more ideas she had heard people trying.

"Is that... fish fingers?"

Even after so much time spent on Earth trying to learn the customs and cultures of the people around him, and even more time spent here trying to learn so many more of them, Jonas still found things that surprised him. And food had always been a fascination for him.

He'd never have been able to find the time to try everything, but that hadn't stopped him from doing what he could.

"Fish fingers and ..." He approached a little closer, peering at the bowl. "And custard!"
