A Doctor walks into a bar [Open]
Eleven saw Clara's name on the rooming list during the holiday party, and he found it odd that he hadn't seen her as of yet. Maybe she was spending time with one of the other hims, and he planned on ignoring those feelings of jealousy that swelled up in his stomach thinking about that.
So, since everyone winds up in Ten Forward at some point or other, that's where the Doctor planned on spending the foreseeable future. Eventually, Clara would appear, or Amy, or maybe someone else that he hadn't talked to just yet.
Eleven sat at a table near the window eating his favorite food, fish fingers and custard, something he assumed someone would question him on. Maybe. Eventually.

Did it hurt? JK
She can't resist when she sees Bowtie. He has his bowl of fish custard up to his face at the moment, so she chooses that second to slide into the seat across from him. She rests her elbow on the table and supports her head in her palm and just watches him.
And times him to see how long it will take him before he notices someone is sat across from him.
LOL Not as much as when Jim Kirk walked into a bar
"Hello."
XD
Yup, she's going to talk to him like he knows who she is, because she's been around long enough she assumes word about her has gotten around. Even Q knew who she was... That was bothersome.

Then he stopped eating for a second before offering her the seat across from him, "I'm the Doctor...and cool glasses."
He'd always wanted a pair like that. Maybe he'd replace his brown round ones with that kind of style instead, not that he needed any of them.

Eventually, he sat down opposite the man and greeted him as if they did know each other. Hopefully this Eleven wouldn't mind Henry using the nickname he'd used before.
"Hey Theta."
no subject
"How do you know that?"
no subject
"Before I arrived here, I was stuck a pocket dimension in which people from different points in space and time were brought on a train. Quite similar to where we are now only within a city setting with very limited technology. Within it, I met you, or a version of you and I refused to believe you had the name Doctor as that is more of a profession. So you asked me to call you Theta instead."
He's forgotten how much fun it was to have more information than other people. And even more fun when those other people don't think you're crazy for telling them that information.

Ishka does notice the fish fingers and custard. That is definitely a new one. "I'm not sure I'll ever completely understand hewmon food." Surely that can't be popular.
no subject
Which would probably explain why his food choice was so odd. But he wasn't offended by being called the wrong species. Humans did look Time Lord after all.

Even after so much time spent on Earth trying to learn the customs and cultures of the people around him, and even more time spent here trying to learn so many more of them, Jonas still found things that surprised him. And food had always been a fascination for him.
He'd never have been able to find the time to try everything, but that hadn't stopped him from doing what he could.
"Fish fingers and ..." He approached a little closer, peering at the bowl. "And custard!"
no subject
At least someone seemed excited by his meal. He'll count that as a win.
"I finally got that machine over there to make it properly."
no subject
Fish sticks, yes. Custard, definitely. Both could be found in the SCG's commissary. Never the two of them together, though.
"That is a genius idea. Is it common where you're from? I've never seen anyone eat them together, but I still have a lot of Earth foods to try."
This one was definitely going on his list.

Granted, he hadn't been eating replicated fish custard for long at all. That could do something odd, but Eleven doubted it.

By this time she has met her roommate (and no doubt ran into 12), as it's been a few days, but here she is, exploring more. Ten Forward was... interesting. Decorated nice at the moment, huh. But the most interesting part was the goofy looking man with the bowtie. Sitting at a table by a window. Eating.
She moved all in a rush, ducking past a person, sliding past another, and rounding on his table swiftly. Both hands slapped down on the table in front of him and she leaned, eyes going wide as she took in his appearance. If he looked up he's see her staring, surprised, wide eyes unsure for all of a moment, before a slow smile blossomed across her face.
"You!"

She made a face at the food, but schooled her expression before speaking. "Do you mind some company?"
no subject
Her lunch looked much less fun than his. But sometimes boring food was needed. Besides, how would you know what fun food was in the first place?

Even if Ten Forward is the site of the most time rips on the ship, of the paradox of Q's slip-holing universe and stitching of dozens of universes and people from them whom never should have come together, no less have managed to stick together without any universally impacting and collapsing implosions, The Doctor has grown fond of this area.
At least as much as one can. After all, if he can manage standing next to Jack for several months, he can do this, too. It doesn't hurt that as a bonus, the people there are rather cheerful and interesting. Odd, strange, beautiful. Different each of them from the last. A new reflection of a whole new time, of a whole new planet, of whole new universe.
The Doctor never was good at resisting those things in his own. Always running to the next. So he finds himself here.
Looking around and -- that can't really be, can it? That man really isn't -- "Is that custard?"
no subject
"It's is, perfectly prepared custard from a computer."
Then he took a look at his Tenth Self. He really was skinny, and taller than Eleven remembered. He seemed to think that the last time they met as well. Proper skinny.

And normally the damn replicator won.
Sighing, she moved over towards one of the tables near near a window but paused as she was passing one with a man eating... She had no idea what he was eating.
"What is that?"
no subject
He finished his fish finger and smiled, "Fish fingers and custard."
