A Doctor walks into a bar [Open]

Eleven saw Clara's name on the rooming list during the holiday party, and he found it odd that he hadn't seen her as of yet. Maybe she was spending time with one of the other hims, and he planned on ignoring those feelings of jealousy that swelled up in his stomach thinking about that.

So, since everyone winds up in Ten Forward at some point or other, that's where the Doctor planned on spending the foreseeable future. Eventually, Clara would appear, or Amy, or maybe someone else that he hadn't talked to just yet.

Eleven sat at a table near the window eating his favorite food, fish fingers and custard, something he assumed someone would question him on. Maybe. Eventually.

"You mean the 1950's, right?" It was always best to check those things before he gave too much away. There were a lot of '50's' over the years.

The tea and PADD were something he made note of, but not something he was going to ask about yet.

"Oh, no I haven't." But the idea seemed like something he'd really enjoy.

"Yes, cue the jokes about looking like something from a sock hop." Kristen joked. "And I tried it, turns out its not a bad idea. But then the one about fries being dipped in mayo was just too odd to consider." she offered.

"There are a lot of 50's through out time. More of a point of reference." Since he had, by this time, seen almost every single one of those 50's.

"Chips and Mayonnaise is good. There was a place in 21st Century New York that made some of the best I've ever had."

"I think I'll be trying that one." Kristen cracked a smile now. "How about nacho cheese sauce or BBQ sauce?" adding a couple of more ideas she had heard people trying.

"Oh, I've tried Barbecue. Not a favorite. It's usually too tangy."

That was the nice thing about the custard, it was pleasantly sweet, but not to the point of overpowering anything.

"The person who mentioned it said he used a honey BBQ sauce, could that have been a factor?" Kristen offered. But this was turning out to be fun and kept her brain from spinning out of control,"But the oddest one I've heard was ice cream, but then it came from one of techs on night shift."

"That would be good I think. Just the right amount of sweet. Balances out the tangy."

Oh he liked her. No judgement for his food combinations, and even some new ideas.

"Though I don't know about the ice cream, unless it was vanilla. Then it probably wouldn't be much different than this."

"Good point: ice cream is pretty close to custard." Kristen observed. "Heard most of these around the station, it seems the later it gets in the shift the more creative people get it seems."

"Station?" He asked, after he finally tore his attention away from his food long enough to actually talk to the other person at the table. "Are you a police officer?"

"Civilian archivist and records keeper actually." Kristen gracefully explained.

Kristen might be one of his new favorite people. He did love museums after all. Archivist and Record Keeper was almost like someone who worked in a museum.

"Important work. I love a good archive myself."

"Sometimes it does not feel very important." Kristen was honest. "But I know my little slice of the station is needed by pretty much everyone from detectives to the lab techs." she offered.

"Maybe not, but at least you know you make a difference. Imagine how difficult it would be for them to do their jobs without your help."

The Doctor really thought that everyone played their own important part in the universe and without them it would be a drastically different place.
