The Doctor will See You Now....

Three flips of a lever and one environment check later, the Eleventh Doctor stepped out of his TARDIS straight into what looked like a cargo bay of a very large spaceship. Which was not supposed to be what happened at all. He was supposed to be going to Arcateen V. The Butterfly People have a very lovely spring festival that was supposed to be taking place now, and after the mess of Trenzalore, and the Great Intelligence, he could use a very lovely Spring Festival.

But this was most certainly not Aracteen V. This was a cargo bay. A very, unspringlike cargo bay. How Disappointing. He turned to go back inside his ship, and found the doors to be locked. He huffed out an irritated sound and leaned against the doors. Just what he needed. A temperamental TARDIS.

Well, usually when she got like this, there had to be a reason he was where he was. There was always a reason.

After checking for his screwdriver, which he had safely tucked in his pocket with his So he went off in search of someone who could tell him where and when exactly he was. Thanks to his basic knowledge of how humans constructed things and a little bit of exploring he found himself at the door of Ten Forward.

One deep breath and straightening of his bow tie, the one with the vines, it was his favorite combination with the purple frock coat, he stepped through the door and looked around. A bar. Well, that was a bit anti climactic.

Ah well, Geronimo.

That stops the Doctor in his tracks. There is am immediate turn, and a critical eye is set upon the other man. This silly looking man, he couldn't possibly be him in a later regeneration, could he? And yet, the man in the suit and ridiculous shoes had to be him and he was quite possibly sillier than the man in front of him.

"So, you're me, then. Another me. And since I don't remember that rather nice jacket or..." Eights eyes dart up to the hair. "...that rather ridiculous thing on your head, I should assume you are later than me. I've already met my tenth incarnation. So are you my Ninth? Eleventh? Twelfth? I hope I have more sense than to follow the Masters example and force more lives upon myself."

"Oh, so you follow just after the chap with the long coat, suit, and trainers? How wonderful. So the number of Time Lords already here is three, and if anything it's worse because they are three of the same Time Lord. Oh, Q will have so much to answer for-"

Eight stops for a moment.

"If there are three of us here, plus several of our companions...how well has that fared for those who would use us?"

"At last count, there were five. Ian, as in Ian Chesterton. That brought back some memories. There is Lucie...from before our fight. Before she..."

Eight halted for a moment, but forced himself back onto his initial point.

"There was a blond woman and a man with a large coat and someone very wrong with the Web of Time around him, but the other me is sure is safe. And then there was a woman who i caught second-handed. A redhead. Amy, I think her name was."

"Didn't catch her surname, but red hair and a bit of a Scottish burr were indeed things I would associate with this woman," The Doctor said, a bit taken aback from the reaction. He was excitable when the time came, certainly, but this other Doctor...there's excitability, and then there was this gentleman's reaction.

There is a knowing smile to that last bit. 'Haven't seen her in centuries' covers quite a few of the women in his life. Susan. Barbara. Sarah Jane. Romana. Ace...he really could go on listing them in his mind, but that wouldn't be prudent to the situation.

"Since we have incarnation done,I'm curious as to your actual age, or would that be too much information?" This is said half-seriously.

Gogo. Leela. Peri. Charlie.

"1200 or so."

There's something there. The Doctor can't put his finger on it, but something bugs him about that. Maybe it's the implication that he stops remembering his age. In his current incarnation, memory problems abounded. But...probably just paranoia.

"I do know a thing or two about not remembering. But...you would remember that, wouldn't you?"
