Open~! There is going to be a concert!

Yuna had done this a few times before but each time she hadn't done the foot work. There was a lot to do and she was trying to do it all by herself. Luckily time was one thing that she had in abundance. She ran down the halls with a wide smile looking perhaps a little too happy with paper gripped tightly in her hands. Each one had a hand written notice on it informing them of a concert that will be taking placing on the holodeck. It had specific directions and a time. She wanted to see if she could get everyone to come even though she still have to finish getting the scene together in the holodeck and then make sure she could use her spheres without it getting in the way of what she had in mind.

She stopped everyone in the hall with a wide smile holding out the flyer. "Here! I'm having a concert! You should come!"

Later in the day she can be found shouting at the holodeck as she tries to get the scene to change according to her memories. To be far the holodeck had no recollection of Spira in its data so she was trying to do it from scratch and it was a lot harder than she had thought. Yuna through her arms down to the sides getting perhaps a little to angry with the machine.

"Come on."

Yuna and technology didn't always mix well and even from the hallway her shouts could be heard.

"Hey, looking forward to the show. You want to me to see if I can get Gaila down here to get the place programmed to yer specs?"

[whereishe]

Yuna paused for a minute and blinked. "Galia?" She was pretty sure she hadn't heard that name though there were a lot of things she hadn't heard.

[immutablysam]

"Bit more native to this era, and good with these computer things. We're sort of dating. Figured she might be of help."

[whereishe]

Yuna smiled. "If she wouldn't mind. I'd hate to impose." The truth was Yuna needed a lot of help but she wasn't the sort to ask for it.

"I don't mean to pry but how long have you guys been together?" She didn't mean to pry but it was a prying question.

[immutablysam]

"I suspect she wouldn't mind, but I can ask. And... well, s'complicated, I suppose. Seeing each other off and on a few weeks. Nothing serious."

[whereishe]

Yuna smiled. "It's still nice to have someone." At least someone to talk to. Yuna was talented at keeping her own fears and worries locked up tight.

She tilted her head back with a wide smile. "I think it's great."

[immutablysam]

"I s'pose it is. How about you? Been a while. How're you settling in?"

[whereishe]

"I'm settling in pretty well." She smiled.

"I still haven't met to many people but I'm getting there. Everyone seems busy. I'm still trying to find more to do but that's why I decided to have a concert. Well, it was actually someone else's idea."

[immutablysam]

"It's a fine idea. You have a knack."

holodeck

[she_listens]

"It looks like you could use a little help."

It's not often Guinan comes this way, but some of the flyers made their way to Ten Forward, and you could say she was curious.

She smiles at Yuna, glancing between the room and the computer terminal at the entrance.

"We don't have the program you're looking for, huh?"

Yuna almost jumped when she hear the voice behind her. She was usually more focused than that using her magic to sense those around her but the computer had completely distracted her.

She turned looking at the woman who had approached her. Had she really been so loud? She smiled a little nervously lightly scratching her cheek. "Yeah, it's sort of a strange place and I couldn't find anything that was exactly like it."

[she_listens]

Guinan carries herself with a calm, almost serene quality. Most people find her easy to be around, which is one of the reasons she makes a good bartender. She's easy to open up to.

When Yuna startles, she holds out her hands and leans back, smiling softly.

"Don't worry about it. You know, you can customize a program to be exactly what you want it to be. I can show you, if you like."

[whereishe]

Yuna's smile widened. "Would you?"

She didn't mean to startle and she felt a little bad for that. She was usually more aware but without plant life around her she found it easier not to focus on the pulse of life. Her smile was wide and confident, happy to have someone willing to help.

"I've been trying to make it show the stadium in Luca but none of the data from my world is here."

[she_listens]

Guinan flashes a row of pearly-white teeth.

"Absolutely. Computer, create file: Luca Stadium."

That last sentence is addressed to the wall terminal, which chirrups a response and answers in a feminine voice: "File created." Guinan turns to the holodeck doors, and sweeps her hand out in an invitation to enter. The room is empty, each wall black with yellow lines running in a checker pattern.

"Tell me about the stadium. It may take some time to get it just right, but we can edit things as we go along."

She stops in the middle of the room, and smiles.

"I'm Guinan, by the way."

[whereishe]

"I'm Yuna. It's nice to meet you." Her name sounded familiar as if Yuna had heard it once before except that Yuna was very bad at remembering names so she shrugged off the feeling and walked into the room.

Her eyes glanced around the blank canvas as she tried to picture her home and the great stadium that resided there.

"It's circular and made of some sort of white stone. The seats go back in sections so that everyone can see the center. The middle is big enough to hold a sphere of water in air but for this we just need a platform. There are some flags that remind you that it's Luca and you can taste the salty sea air." She looked over at Guinan with a smile. "The city is next to the water, part of the stadium is also the docks."

As she spoke she gestured with her hands indicating where things were and at what angle. She just said things as they came to mind but she began to wonder if this would really work.

[she_listens]

"Nice to meet you, Yuna."

She inclines her head politely. Guinan is often around Ten Forward, helping new visitors get acclimated or just serving drinks. She tries to make it a point of getting around to everyone.

With a slow smile, she waits until Yuna reaches a stopping point, and says:

"Computer, did you catch that?"

Things start to fill the room as Yuna described them, each appearing with a high hum (not unlike the sound a food replicator makes). It won't be perfect, not at first; the more detailed Yuna is, the more accurate it will be.

But it's a start.


Gulls can be heard in the distance, along with the dull roar of the sea. Wherever Yuna gestures is exactly where the item she describes appears, waiting for modification or approval depending on how accurate it is.

"It looks older but just a bit. Worn away by the salty wind." Her voice was soft almost wistful as she looked at the scene that built around them. It was Luca though without all the people lining the seats.

Yuna looked back at Guinan with a wide excited smile. It's been awhile since she's been on the ship but she hadn't really understood the holodeck, it wasn't anything like what she was used too.

"How's it look?" She knew that Guinan didn't know what it looked like but she wanted to know what the woman thought about the place that Yuna was slowly building.

[themerlin]

A cat came running along, and peered at her as she ran down the halls, then sat and looked up at her. "Meow?" It spoke loudly, and had a low kitty voice, and Merlin thought her actions rather intriguing. The cat that he was also thought she might have a good lap.

[whereishe]

Yuna skidded to a halt as the sight of a cat sitting in the middle of the hallway.

She looked down at the little cat with a smile. She hadn't know that there were any pets on board because she hadn't seen one until now. It was nice to see animal though.

Yuna kneels lightly brushing her fingers along the cats neck if it would allow her. "Hello. Do you think you'd want to come as well." She never talked down to animals knowing that each one had a soul and thoughts of its own.

[themerlin]

Merlin purred at her petting then rubbed along her legs and meowed, looking ahead, then back at her. She seemed interesting. Why not follow along? And pets needed attention. Merlin had a fondness for being an animal sometimes. There was a simplicity to it.

[whereishe]

She laughed lightly picking up the purring cat and holding it in her arms. She placed her flyers under one arm so she could hold the cat tightly against her chest. "I wish you could talk so you could tell me your name."

Yuna paused looking down at the cat. "Can I give you one or shall I call you cat?"

[themerlin]

Merlin looked up at her quizzically as he snuggled in against her, then purred, loud and contented, before opening his mouth.

"You could call me Merlin, if you like."

[whereishe]

Yuna would have dropped the cat but that would be mean. She stared down obviously surprised that the cat spoke. "Y-you can talk?!"

She was used to cats but not them talking.

[themerlin]

"Yes, I can. I am not a normal cat. Some people would not call me a cat at all." Merlin purred more and nudged her arm with his nose.

[whereishe]

"What would they call you then?"

Her arms moved as his noise nudged it she wasn't sure what she should do in this situation so she gently put Merlin down in case he didn't like being lifted.
