Open~! There is going to be a concert!

Yuna had done this a few times before but each time she hadn't done the foot work. There was a lot to do and she was trying to do it all by herself. Luckily time was one thing that she had in abundance. She ran down the halls with a wide smile looking perhaps a little too happy with paper gripped tightly in her hands. Each one had a hand written notice on it informing them of a concert that will be taking placing on the holodeck. It had specific directions and a time. She wanted to see if she could get everyone to come even though she still have to finish getting the scene together in the holodeck and then make sure she could use her spheres without it getting in the way of what she had in mind.

She stopped everyone in the hall with a wide smile holding out the flyer. "Here! I'm having a concert! You should come!"

Later in the day she can be found shouting at the holodeck as she tries to get the scene to change according to her memories. To be far the holodeck had no recollection of Spira in its data so she was trying to do it from scratch and it was a lot harder than she had thought. Yuna through her arms down to the sides getting perhaps a little to angry with the machine.

"Come on."

Yuna and technology didn't always mix well and even from the hallway her shouts could be heard.

"Yes, exactly. And there are many types of energy, and thus many types of magic." He reached out and snapped his fingers, and pulled, and out of thin air came a magnifying glass. he peered through it, then nodded and handed it to her.

Most things looked normal in it, but he and she, well their magic showed. His was three different kinds swirling around inside an obviously magical body.

Yuna had dealt with many types of magic learning them and bringing that power into herself. If this thing could see magic in her then he'd see everything: the chaos, the death, the elements and pure power that swirled within her. It wasn't so simple as a type of magic because Yuna tapped into so many types of magic. She suddenly got nervous.

"What exactly does this do then?"

"It simply allows you to see energy patterns, including magic." He pointed to her and to himself.

"Oh.." She wasn't thrilled to hear that. She took the seeing glass and moved it to her side hoping that he hadn't gotten a glimpse of her magic. Her gaze met his and for a moment she faltered.

"Are there.. bad types of magic? Like manipulating souls?"

Yuna has had this told to her once before and it hadn't been a fun encounter. She hoped that it wouldn't happen again.

Merlin cocked his head to the side. "No. There are bad uses to magic, yes, but not bad magics, period. For example, a magic that can manipulate souls in a bad way could also be used to heal them, or to help guide them when they have been injured or attacked by soul monsters. Magic is about will. The magic itself is not evil, or bad, but the caster, the wielder of the magic, they can indeed be so."

She felt relieved to hear him say that and she agreed with his sentiments. She had seen magic be used for good and bad. Her own magic had started pure then she learned the summoner's arts, the manipulation of the dead. From there she learned white magic mastering it easily in comparison, healing others just came easy to her.

Then Yuna had her dresspheres which was a little hard for her to explain without just showing him. Her eyes stayed steadily on his features as she thought through everything. Then there was the chaos. It let her feel everything and she could use it in anyway including being lost in it. It was all complicated and it was what made her. She identified with her magic more than she had with anything else.

Yuna held out the glass letting him take a look through at the rainbow of colors that made up her magic. "What do you see then?"

Merlin smirked at her, and nodded, and peered at the glass and her. "A rainbow of magics, of different kinds, touching your energy, in different places." His delight was in his tone and on his face. "You are an amazing person."

She flailed her arms slightly with a nervous smile. "I'm not amazing." She had spent most of her time practicing and improving her skills all with the hope to help others. Since waking up here she hasn't really been able to help anyone.

"Milady. I do not lie." he grinned at her.

"Even talent gained by hard work is call to be called what you are."

"Well, thank you." She smiled feeling a little embarrassed by his words.

"You must be skilled to be able to shift. The only other I knew to do that was amazing."

"You're welcome." he bowed to her, then winked.

"It is mostly instinct for me. It comes from my birth not training." He shifted again, this time into a woman and bowed to her.

She had curled hair and a warm smile. "Shifting comes like breath to me."

Yuna clasped her hands together with a wide smile. "That's amazing. Do you mind if I ask about your others skills? I wouldn't mind showing you mine in return."

She was to excited to remember anything about the concert though she supposed that she should at some point later continue with the flyers. She was expecting to get yelled at for spreading paper over a fairly paperless place.

Merlin grinned at her.

"What would you like to see? I can bring things here out of magic. I can cast bolts of energy, or help to heal wounds, and I can do many other spells." She grinned at Yuna.

Everything that Merlin mentioned sounded familiar to Yuna though she could help but be curious.

"You can summon things here? Like what?" Her tone was curious but steady her eyes looking up at the woman before her.

"Not summon, make, out of magic." Merlin smirked at her and gestured, reaching into mid-air, and pulling out a small beret, in the brightest of pinks, just her size.

"Like this." he bowed, and handed it to her.

Yuna took the small beret and smiled. "That's amazing. How did you do that?"

She could do a lot of things but they were mostly based on combat. She couldn't create anything so useful. She inspected the beret closer her eyes reflecting her amazement.

"I used magic to scan your head, then used my imagination, plus magic, to create a hat that would fit and look good doing so." Merlin nodded.

"Scan my head?" That was an odd sentience and Yuna wasn't sure what that entailed. She lightly placed the beret on her head feeling how it fit perfectly a top her hair.

"How does it look?"

Yuna was practical but she couldn't help and like clothing. She had a lot of clothing that she kept with her and rarely a chance to wear it.

"The shape of it. I can magically see the entire shape of something, and feel it, as long as the person is close." He nodded to her. "Hence the good-fit." He grinned at her.

"It looks pleasant upon thy brow."

"That makes sense. I wonder if I can do that?" She had been able to sense people's energy's but she hadn't ever tried shapes. Yuna focused for a moment on Merlin's head using his example to fuel her efforts.

"Maybe. I don't see why not." Merlin grinned at her, and relaxed his magical shields, waiting to see if her magic would let her sense his basic head shape. He was curious and the feeling of watching someone stretch their magic was exciting!

She felt her magic reach out, she felt the pulse of his life force and mapped it, outlining his features until she knew its shape. Her eyes slowly opened landing on Merlin curiously.

"I can't make anything but I think, I got it."

Merlin smiled. "Maybe in time. And this, this sort of scan, is also a good step in shapeshifting, allowing one to take on the form of what their magic has touched." He grinned at her.

"So the things you shift into where once people or animals you encountered?" She wasn't sure that she understood what he meant.

Yuna's head tilted to the side her gaze curious as she studied him.

"Some are. Some are just my creations." Merlin grinned. "But it is a good place to start if one wants to shapeshift." He nodded. It took much concentration at first, but it could be done in later years without that.
