Ten Forward, Open
Personal Log, stardate 44195.79851598155...
After recording his log, Remy looked around the expanse of Ten Forward, smiling, as his hands almost automatically drew out a new deck of cards, opened them, and then started shuffling them. But not normally.
Remy was fond of games. He liked games especially if they were skill games, ones requiring an expenditure of effort, not just to win the game, but to show you had some skill in some area. He had played many such back home, from roofrunning to thievery, and he had never backed down from them. He liked them, and what each one brought to his mind new ideas and new variations of old skills and abilities.
Coming up with new ways to shuffle cards was one such thing, and as he watched the room, he began using one new technique after another. Side shuffle, flip the tip, run the line, and more were added to a normal shuffle, then made more complex by card being flipped in the air, and caught, sometimes slowly, and sometimes faster. He wasn't being flashy about it, or trying to catch attention, he was just working on being busy.
For the moment.

She strode over and sat across from him, grabbing a card out of his stack. "Settling in okay?"
no subject
Remy grinned as he saw her, placing the cards on the table and nodding to her. "Always grabbing the Joker, eh?" He knew which card she had, because he always knew, he always had that much knowledge of what he was doing with cards.
"How're you doing?"
no subject
Lorna gave Remy a wry smile and handed the card back. "Seems like. Doesn't matter here. None of my old jokers are around to bother me." In a way it was easier. There was no chance she'd bump into Alex here. If only she could stop wishing to see him around every corner.

"I can't heal your heart, beauty, but I can be one who helps you deal. A friend, maybe, with benefits." His eyes carried the smirk, even as his mouth did.

Lorna eyed him and the card in front of her. "It never goes well. Someone always gets attached." She gently pushed the card back. "But once. . . Well it's hard to get to attached after one night together." She spoke carefully, mulling things over as she went. Maybe that would help her. She hoped so.

"Come on and let's go talk." He rose and extended her his hand.

Elizabeth took the indicated seat, crossing her legs so that her dark pencil skirt slid up her hips. "I'm doing fine. My father is here and he has Anne for a little while. Are you playing all by yourself? That would be such a shame." She smiled at him, hoping it looked confident and seductive. Flirting was fun!

He noticed these things, you know. He canted his head to the side. "Remy plays by himself most of the time. Unless you'd like to lend a hand?"
no subject
"I find it hard to believe you don't have plenty of friends to play with," Elizabeth said with a laugh. "But I would be willing to play if you want to play with me. I had fun last time."

"Perhaps we can try it and see what we like, yes?"

Yuna had been seated at the bar when she saw Remy begin his tricks. She couldn't say she wasn't interested in the way his hands glided the cards so she stood with her drink in hand and walked over. She had a smile and compared to the last they met she was almost glowing. Her emotions were easily read and this one would definitely be happiness.
"Mind if I join you for a short bit?"
no subject
His smile was warm as he favored her with it. Remy liked people, and here, he had met a lot of people who were better than the average Joe. And Yuna was one of the best, in his opinion.
he shuffled away the cards, and grinned at her. "You look happy."

"I've been getting things together to put on a concert."

She took a sip of her drink which after a strange mishap at the bar was just beer. It had enough of a taste to wash away the weird taste of her last drink. Experimenting wasn't always a good idea when you didn't know what things were called and you were on a spaceship.
Yuna smiled. "What have you been up too?"
