1st Gate ~ Ten Forward
A man gets thrown onto the floor of Ten Forward, instantly clearing the people in the small area between the bar and the seating area.
Carson, meanwhile, has no idea where he is, what just happened... All he can remember is feeling the heat on his back, and ending up... wherever here is.
Looking up, he blinks. Confused. He was in Atlantis a few moments ago, on the OR level, having just removed...
Yes. The exploding tumour. Had it exploded? Was this...?
No. He was still alive. His heart was beating ten to the dozen, and he could feel the sweat rolling off his brow. On instinct, he reaches behind him, feeling his back. No burns...
Definitely alive.
He then becomes aware of the people around him, some of them muttering concernedly. He smiles, nervously, slowly sitting up.
"Ah... Sorry... Can... Can anyone tell me where I am?"
This wasn't the weirdest thing that had happened, but it was still pretty up there. Who gets involved in an explosion and ends up in a bar?
((OOC: Apologies to everyone who left a top-level who I haven't tagged. I should have specified earlier that I'd prefer to not have a load of people encountering him "first" as it were.))

So he's there when this new arrival makes such a spectacular arrival, coming to land just beside his table.
"Ten Forward, the starship Enterprise," he says in response to the man's question, simply stating the facts before adding his own rather sour commentary. "Congratulations. You have just been whisked away from whatever time and place you call home, for unknown reasons by a surely mad entity with too much power and too little sense."
no subject
"Oh, bloody hell."
There's a Wraith here. Just... sitting. In a bar. Carson is going to take a few steps back, looking, well... horrified.
no subject
The Wraith in question has gotten to be the first one to greet a few new arrivals during his time on the ship, but this is the first time he has gotten a response quite like this one. Like this human knows what he is, knows about the Wraith.
"You are from Pegasus." Looking the man over, studying his attire, he can really only come up with one place that would seem likely. He smiles a smile that shows a lot of sharp teeth. "From Atlantis, I would assume."
no subject
Carson manages to stammer that out, before regaining his composure a bit.
"This doesn't look like a Hive Ship."
no subject
"That would be because it is not. Unfortunately." He misses his Hive, for many reasons.
no subject
"So... How did... How did we get here?" Might as well get some answers since the Wraith seems chatty.
no subject
no subject
"Is there anyone else from our... universe here?" He asks, slightly hesitantly. Because there could be more Wraith hanging around the corner.
no subject
"There is. You will no doubt be pleased to know that colonel Sheppard is present on board." Then there's that blasted ancient...
no subject
Hey, he has to ask.
no subject
no subject
It was something else to focus on.
no subject
He looks over at his half-eaten meal and breaths a sigh, simply for the sake of a a touch theatrics. "It certainly doesn't compare, but I suppose it will have to do."
no subject
It's a pretty obvious conclusion. And he sounds rather impressed... Until he catches what the Wraith said before.
"Sheppard was..." And his eyes widen. "You fed on Colonel Sheppard?"
no subject
"It was not the first time," the Wraith says with a shrug. "Though this time he was kind enough to volunteer."
no subject
no subject
He lets the conversation halt for a moment as he takes a sip of water. The sandwich he leaves be. He can continue his meal later.
"What is your function on Atlantis, if I may ask?"
no subject
It makes the most logical sense.
"Dr. Carson Beckett."
no subject
"Chief Medical Officer?" He flashes another of those toothy smiles. "Kindly give my regards to Dr. Keller, if you find your way back."

Ever the scientist.

"The original design did work, but brought with it accelerated and uncontrolled cellular regeneration, proving to ultimately be fatal. As those fallen ill were places into hibernation to slow the progress of the disease, the illness spread through the entire Hive. The result was... Quite catastrophic."
no subject
She assumed not everyone knew that.
no subject
He crouches down beside Carson and smiles. The questions can come later. "We aren't in Kansas anymore."
no subject
He looks around, frowning. "I can see that... What... Last thing I remember is that I was on Atlantis, and..."
Then the explosion... then he was here.
no subject
no subject
"I was on the OR level... I was walking down the hall to the bomb disposal team with the tumor I extracted from Dr. Watson." He takes another deep, slightly shuddering breath. "I could have sworn the bloody thing exploded, but... there's not a scratch on me."
no subject
"Well you've saved yourself a trip to the infirmary to get shrapnel out of your back."
no subject
But something doesn't add up. Carson's an intelligent man, likely unparalleled by anyone in the SGC except Dr. Keller. He's already working through the scenario. The force of that explosion... he could feel it before he came here, and it was enough to send him sprawling across the floor of Ten Forward.
He remembers the other explosion in the Mess Hall; three people dead. He was pretty damn close to the epicentre.
"Colonel..." He mumbles, quietly, as he comes to the solution. "Tell me the truth; I didn't... Survive, did I?"
no subject
no subject
"Ah, well..." He says, quietly, taking a second, before looking up. "I... It was my own fault. I sealed the OR level, after all."
no subject
"We still miss you."
no subject
He doesn't know why he has to ask, but he does. Call it a morbid curiosity.
no subject
"It's a pity the others aren't here to say hi."

Bruce was working in a corner as usual, when he spotted the man appearing in a flash of light and landing hard. Without waiting, he hurried to the man, kneeling next to him, a tricorder out and scanning immediately for damage.
"Sir, are you okay?"
He smiled at the confusion, knowing he could easily answer that, at least. "You're on the U.S.S. Enterprise, in the year 2367. Where and when were you, right before you were here?"
no subject
"They call this the Enterprise, and apparently it is some form of space dirigible."
no subject
With a sigh she offered him a hand up. She... no longer knew what to think about these people that kept arriving. At first, given everything Katniss told her... she presumed that they were all here to be saved, that this Q was what Fatima called a superhero. But now... with Katniss gone... she no longer knew what to think.
"You're in the future," she said softly. "Or something like that. You're not from the Capitol, are you?"
She had to ask.
Feel free to ignore this post based on the trigger warning, if you wish
She flipped back out of his way, landing neatly on her palms and bouncing back to her feet with practiced ease. She really wished she could say she only needed maneuvers like that on the practice field, but she couldn't. Kaylin was a terrible liar.
She swore creatively across four languages, all of which the translator happily rendered into one for her. She eyed the man who had appeared with some suspicion, but when he spoke, she settled back on her heels, hands resting lightly on the pommels of her daggers.
"They call it a star-ship. You were pulled off your world and dropped here." a moment's thought, a fief shrug, and she added "you get used to it."
