[Sickbay]: Round Fourteen Scans and Vaccinations

If this is your first trip to Sickbay, you may be surprised to see that it's a fairly ordinary-looking hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you might see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones. As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly — even the more unusual aliens.
If you're new to the ship, no doubt you've been escorted here by the security team. Nothing to worry about, the doctors just want to make sure you aren't carrying any viruses or are vulnerable to terrible space disease. Once you've been checked over — a quick scan from a tricorder and any necessary vaccines — you'll be free to go. Lollipops are optional.
"All right, step on in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be afraid. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
[ooc: Sickbay is, as always, OTA and open until the next one goes up for latecomers! For new characters: tagging isn't mandatory but IC going to sickbay is. If you'd prefer to skip threading with one of our doctors, you can handwave that your character got a clean bill of health and a shot and were sent on their merry way. There is a post up in the OOC comm with more details about Sickbay and which doctors are on deck this month, if you have any questions.]
Room 1629: Chief Medical Officer's office
Anyone who needs to speak with her will be met with a smile.

She's a little nervous, but not enough to stop herself from asking what's on her mind. The fact is that she needs something to do beside brood about her lot in life and care for her daughter. Maybe she can be of use here.
"Excuse me, Dr. Crusher?"

Re: Room 1629: Chief Medical Officer's office
Veena appears in the office and promptly flops down on the most irritating place possible.
A few moments later, Trever knocks and pokes his head into the office. "Dr. Crusher! Hi."

When Trever finally turns up, she gives him that same wry look and motions him inside. "Hello, Trever. Do you need something?" She assumes so. Why else would he be here?
no subject
"A little bit, yes. But first, Kale and I got you something though - we gave it to my Aunt Aofie when she started her own practice..." He offered her a box about the size of a hand.

And right to be, too, though of course no sign shows of this. If anything, his air is of an aggrieved citizen.
"Doctor?" he says, stepping forward, "I would like to file a complaint about this...manhandling I have received. Those two marched me here like I was in a Klingon prison camp."
That he had led them a merry chase of which he was completely ignorant when they caught up to him? That was not to be mentioned.
"Still, I'm surprised not to find Doctor Bashir on duty. We're well-acquainted, you know. Friends of old, as it were."
no subject
"You'll have to forgive them. They aren't used to everyone yet," she says, managing to sound as warm as possible given her current situation. Standing, she motions him inside. "My name is Doctor Crusher and I'm the Chief Medical Officer here. Doctor Bashir is on board. I can have him report in if you'd like to see him instead of our other staff."
Though if he is a friend of Doctor Bashir, that brings up another question, one she will examine in a minute.
She pauses for a second and then decides to go out on a limb. "Did you know him on Deep Space Nine?" If not, something is even more temporally misaligned than she thought.

If only because it's one step closer to getting out of a holding pen and into something he can actually do something about.
So he patiently waits his turn, still dressed in his gold uniform.

"It looks like you've got me," he says. "My name's Doctor Tam."
Simon has a tricorder and hypospray in hand, but he doesn't raise either towards his patient yet.
"I take it you're familiar with this equipment?"

Open to Any
He has seen no indication that Clara is here. Well, that was good: maybe she was tucked up back home, safe and sound. He had done his best to avoid detection from anyone, though he was fairly certain that his previous selves knew he was here. They always knew...
So he grudgingly makes his way to the sickbay at the first opportunity. He’s not so sure about this whole ‘hypospray’ thing. He looks around the sickbay and mutters something about “primitive”.
In his Scottish brogue, his rough voice breaks the muted sounds around them. “Look, I subject that I’m a prisoner here and have to abide your rules, but you’ll not be injecting me with anything. Humans have been the death of me more times than I care to count.”
A slight exaggeration… There was the literal death and regeneration that Grace caused. What a wasted regeneration. All because of the stupidity of humans. Well, he'll not allow that again: one time was more than enough.
"And don't go thinking that you've treated me before and it went fine. New body; new rules."
He's not having any of it. Mostly, he just wants to get to his TARDIS and get out of here. And if he has to play the game and pretend to cooperate, well, that's fine for now.

It comes from a man in a white lab coat, not dressed in a Starfleet uniform like the others, but with a Combadge pinned to the coat. He has an object in his hand, which also doesn't look Starfleet issue, and is set aside for the more standard Tricorder.
"My name is Dr. Beckett. Please, take a seat." A pause. "Have you been told everything about your circumstance?"
no subject
"I highly doubt I've been told everything. But, I've been told enough. Given that I'm not from this universe, it's unlikely that whatever has been developed would actually be safe for me. It doesn't matter who developed it."
He huffs slightly. If Doctor Beckett listens carefully, he might realise that the Doctor is not actually raising his voice at him. And he makes an obvious effort to remain calm. He's annoyed and frustrated with the situation. He is more than simply trapped. He can deal with trapped. He can escape trapped. No. He's stuck and for the Last of the Time Lords, it's worse than being in a cage.
"Look, I'm used to travelling through the whole of Time and Space. Back in the day, I even used to travel to different universes. I know how to keep myself safe from others and how to keep others safe from me."
It isn't a negotiation. He states it as plain fact. As long as he believes the vaccination might cause him harm, he will under no circumstances be a willing participant in this charade.

Dr. Beckett Please!
Sorry this is so late!
He motions to the biobed, shifting to pick up his tricorder from the instrument station.
No worries!

DJ (cyborg) | OTA
DJ had woken up when activity in sickbay picked up. He was on a bio bed in a quiet corner, where a screen somehow kept track of his life signs. He had been sleeping a lot, after the mild sedative they had given him earlier to help keep him relaxed. He still didn't understand how the hyposprays worked without visible needles. There was no signs of IV bags or invasive tools anywhere.
They had given him a clean change of clothes and showed him how to operate a sonic shower so that he could clean up and change out of the stained ripped clothes he had been wearing. After that, and some personal grooming, he felt quite a bit better, and probably looked better too. He still felt a pressure on his skull along with a pounding headache though - but it was nice to feel somewhat human again. He wore loose comfortable pants and a long sleeved shirt that was warm and comfortable.
He stayed quiet and out of the way, watching the goings on of the place from where he lay curled on the bio bed.

Mary followed the security to the sick bay and took a seat while she waited for a doctor. Prior to arriving on the ship, Mary had been abducted. She had quite the gash on her forehead, which she had bandaged, a giant deep black bruise on her cheek, bruised ribs which made breathing hurt a little and her hand was also bandaged due to wounds she had sustained. She had already been checked out by the doctors in Hawaii as her brother's first stop after rescuing her from her abductors was the hospital.
When the doctor tells her to step in, she looks at her brother once again for reassurance before sighing and going into the room. "This really isn't necessary. I've already been checked over by a doctor and I'm fine."

When security came and Mary refused to go, Steve knew he'd be going with her here as well. He really didn't mind. There wasn't much for him to do on the ship and truth be told, he was feeling a bit of guilt that she was here. The counsellor he'd seen was right, everyone was here was kidnapped by Q and in the same situation, but the fact that his friends and family kept showing up was too much of a coincidence for Steve.
On the way to sick bay, he tried to reassure Mary. Grace, Danny and himself all went through the clearance check and nothing odd or frightening happened. And best of all, it was quick.
Steve waited behind when the Doctor called Mary in, giving her a wave and a reassuring smile. He crossed his arms and held sentry outside, mostly to make sure Mary didn't try to escape.
Sorry this is so late!
"Please, take a seat. This should all be done in a few minutes."

Though this one was obviously not in fighting condition. He wasn't even conscious. No, he was heavy and motionless, the visor in his helmet showing no signs of life, but here he was, attended by one other.
I hope this is okay...
Looks fine to me.
let me know if this works!
Should be okay!
