Birthdays and Alec have a strange relationship.

He has a twin sister, but she was born on a different day than him - that's what happens when you're born right around midnight. And no only that, but he was born on a leap-day for his world.(And that's not even counting all the weird time travel shenanigans that happen later) Leap-days only come every five years on Alec's world, but he's not at all above stealing other world's customs and things so he's decided to appropriate Leap Day on Earth's calendar for himself. (That way he can have two birthdays every five years instead of one...)

Also, feeling a bit bored and missing his boyfriend, Alec decided to try a little bit of mischief of his own to celebrate the day.

Besides, he'd been behaving the entire time he'd been on board without a large scale use of his powers. It was a good gift for his birthday.

Settling into Ten-Forward with birthday cake and his guitar, he watched the people around trying to figure out what to do. People moving around, back and forth shuffling ...

Oh...

Now there's a fun idea.

And not one anyone would lay blame on him either. No one really knows what he can do. Or if they did they don't quite believe it, maybe. He doesn't know.

After a moment of composition in his head, his fingers started playing "all around the Marigold Bush... the monkey chased the weasel..."

When the final notes hit "POP!" he pulled at reality, grasping around at strings that he could easily find. Not as many as he thought, but one or two that would be fun and twisted. When things finished going Pop! he'd shuffled some people's powers around... given them to other people, some people losing theirs... it would be interesting.

And... even better, they'd blame Q for it.

Smirking to himself, Alec played a little bit more before cake.

((Power Shuffle PlotA go. Any last minute people can join in, if they'd like. ALl powers return to normal on March 7th.))

Bob appeared beside her without much, if any in the way of warning. "Counsellor, now that you're free we should talk," he said without preamble.

Chris felt dizzy for a moment and reached out a hand to steady himself. When he looked up, he saw the ball of energy that was his powers floating up and away from him. Sadly, this was a familiar sight for the Halliwell family. But there was a bright side right? Mom wasn't around so no one got the power to randomly freeze time and blow shit up. Because mortals/regular humans? They couldn't handle that. Hell, they weren't meant to handle that. And reaching out a hand and blowing up the couch was kind of scary.

This. Was. Bad. Chris tried to think. He remembered a couple different instances when Warren witches had been separated from their powers. But, he hadn't done the power swap spell with anyone, and he was pretty sure he hadn't eaten or drank anything funky. Unless he had. Could the replicator program magical ingredients into food? Someone would have to have a good knowledge of technology and magic to do that. It was possible but....not likely.

Grabbing the necessary ingredients, Chris tried the first spell he thought of. Tried and true. Had to work. Right?
Powers of the witches rise
course unseen across the skies
Come to us who call you near
come to us and settle here

Right. Nothing happened. Crap. Either it didn't work because someone was blocking him or.....he didn't even have basic Witch powers anymore. Someone else was walking around with powers they should have. That was a karmic shitfest.

"Crap. Crap crap crap. Paige! Anyone? " Chris randomly called from his quarters.

(Pre dated to later this week to allow for more time to play this out, partial plotlocks to Matt Murdock, Merlin, Paige Halliwell and Team Arrow, also possible CW for ongoing mental health issues with Thea)

It had been easy enough to laugh off skipping dinner the first time. The second time had been passed off as a badly timed snack. But in reality Thea knew something was wrong when she somehow picked up on 3 crying babies, 2 lovers spats (both minor), 2 couples making out (among other things) and everything smell wise from cat food to dirty diapers. What sealed it was knowing every item in the shake she had attempted to choke down (and knew just how awful they really tasted) along with hitting bulls eyes on every shot she took during a testing of her rig.

By mid week however Thea was dancing on the edge of losing it mentally. She had given up on clothes (beyond yoga pants, a tank and her motorcycle jacket) thanks to feeling like she would be skinned alive by fabrics. Sleep had also gone out the window along with eating anything beyond tea and water (since nothing in those could shock her screwed up senses anymore than they already were).

The super hearing was the worst part so far and she only wanted a chance to breath. So she dove into a turbolift (thankfully empty) and cracked like a pane of glass. "How does Matt handle all this 24/7?" she whimpered. But after 3 more crying babies, 2 more diapers and what she was sure was a blotched tuna salad she bursts into tears. But she did get out a tiny plea for help.

Kristen at first made nothing of rattling off odd facts since it was something she had been known to do at home. But the sudden spurts of riddles was the biggest clue along with basically soaking up everything from facts to taking apart a broken comm badge and quickly putting it back together. "Ok, this is offically going into the land of freaky." but quickly quoting,"What's nowhere but everywhere expect where something is?" before muttering song lyrics under her breath. "Ok, this feels scary so find the one person who can help AKA Jonas." grabbing her PADD before going to locate the only person she could think of with something like this. But anyone could see Kristen was on the verge of a pretty massive freak out while muttering every make of bullet and gun found within the GCPD to stay calm.

(This post takes place after the still in-progress medbay thread with 10, and the roommate thread with Ed, I apologize if things here fail to line up with how the threads conclude.)

River had learned to use the replicators, and gotten herself a shower. And she had words to have with the Doctor. Just how bored had he been that he had given her quarters a sonic shower? She wasn't yet aware that it was a standard thing for all the quarters from long before the Doctor had arrived. Any version of him.

She had gotten herself a replica of a dress that would be a blast from the past for one Doctor, and a teasing spoiler for another. She had been told there was a third of him around, but she still had not found him.

So she had gone exploring, to get the information she said she'd gather, and wound up in ten forward. Well. A bar generally was a good place to cozy up to people, so she'd find someone who looked like they'd want to chat, and sit with them, or sit at the bar with a stool to either side invitingly open.

Of course, just as she was passing through the portal, something shifted. Her hair shaded to red, bright red. Her eyes took on a deep green sheen. She was still, in all other ways, herself; visually at least.

Something felt wrong, hollow, missing. The rest of her new powers she'd notice soon but the feeling... No... No. She had just seen him, two of him. She refused to believe the Doctor was dead. Really truly, no regenerations dead. But what else could explain that hollow horrible feeling of loss and emptiness inside.

She's still River, so she'll hide it until she understands it, but she felt it.

Locked to the Doctors:
Sure he was dead, or worse, River was watching specifically for him, just in case she was wrong, or incase he stumbled in, hurt. Without her Vortex Manipulator, she had no idea how to find him... but she could help him find her. She sent a message to the psychic paper, in hopes that if he could come, he would. It simply said where she was, and two other words. "Hello, sweetie".

If he was able to he'd find her, she hoped.

And the second he walked in, he'd find her - red haired and green eyed - rushing him. She'd grab him but the front of his jacket or shirt, push him against the wall, and kiss him with all the relief she felt that he was there, alive, and okay. She'd deal with the repercussions after.

She had been sitting in the lounge, sipping her drink. She was tired of being stuck as a child, tired of not being able to do her job. An odd feeling started to grow within her. She was tired of waiting. And why did she have to wait? Why couldn't she just fix the problem herself? It didn't seem to matter any more that she didn't understand the medical science, she just suddenly knew she could build a machine that could fix this, that could do whatever it had to do to her DNA so that she'd be herself again. She just needed to find the parts!

There was a spark in her eye, a gleam of madness that anyone who had spent time with Agatha would recognize as she got up and stalked over to the replicator, intent on getting what she needed... one way or the other....

Having the replicator make her what parts it could would be the easiest, asking Commander LaForge for help would be the wisest. So why was she fighting the urge to take the thing apart, and use whatever she got from it as the basis for her machine?

Agatha had been working off of a schematic, trying to build a machine that had been requested, trying to keep herself focused so as to not add a million upgrades to the design when suddenly she stared at the thing in her hands in confusion.

She wasn't sure quite what she was doing. Oh, she knew what she had been trying to do, to build the....whatever it was.... but she couldn't focus, couldn't think. If not for the lack of a headache, she would have been sure that her locket had reverted to its original function. She felt...stupid. Her head was fuzzy, and she couldn't reach the part of her mind she accessed when she built. She swallowed hard, trying not to cry in frustration.
