Where am I now?
This certainly was a surprise to the sphere hunter. She had been working in a city she thought she would be trapped in forever but when she blinked she was suddenly standing in a bar. Not just any bar either, she was in space. It was a place that she ad only heard about from stories and she never thought that she would be able to see it first hand. Her hope flared as she looked out the windows. This might be a way to finally find her way home.
She walked over to the nearest person, trying her best to stay calm. Her strides were confident and her expression pleasant. She thought about getting a drink but decided there was something else she needed to do first, someone she needed to find.
"Excuse me but do you know where I am?" She paused a moment before continuing. "Wait, on second thought, I think I might have a better question than that. I'm looking for someone..."

After deciding that she was here for the time being, Yuna began to explore the allotted corridors. She certainly looked like a tourist. As she walked she would stop, stare and then gape at the things that were unfamiliar to her. Spira had some technology but nothing like this, even her air ship couldn't compare.

He smiled and gestured for her to walk with him. "All right. We're in the hall leading to Ten Forward now...that's the bar, and you probably arrived there, right? They'll serve anything you want, and most people do their socializing there. The next most common place to find people is the holodeck..."
He was off toward the lift, eager to show that off.

His excitement was contagious and Yuna caught herself smiling as she followed him. She didn't know what the holodeck was but it sounded interesting and she assumed it had something to do with holograms.

"This is just the room's neutral state---but if you tell it what you want, it can alter this area into an illusion of just about anything you want. Low-gravity, seaside, a mountain-top, a dance floor, a combat simulation...anything. Want to try?"

"I don't even know what I would want to see." She lightly tapped her chin. "How does it work?"

Billy rocked forward on the balls of his feet, grinned, and thought of something. "I'd like to see a rustic hillside cottage, preferably with a tea room."
After a moment or two of calculation, what he described appeared: a scenic countryside, and a cottage. With tea that was drinkable. The computer filled in the details expertly, and soon the artificiality seemed to fade away.
"You don't have to be all that specific. It has certain presets. But that's how it works!"
no subject
Yuna walked over to the tea and gently picked up a cup. She lightly traced her finger along its rim curiously. "I wouldn't know how to describe mout places from my home."
She paused. "It feels real?"
no subject
Billy handled a cup of his own and sipped, mostly pleased with the taste. He'd still rather have Ahim's tea again, bit it was something.
"What about an imaginary place? It doesn't have to be very specific."

"How about a city. The buildings are so tall that you can barely see their tops. It's night but there is light everywhere. There's pathways were water moves through the sky in fantastic arcs. The city is surrounded by water like it was build on its surface."
She turned back towards Billy with an excited smile. "Would that work?"
no subject
"It's amazing. Did you live in a place like this, Yuna?"
no subject
She walked around slowly taking in the sight of the city. "I was told that its a city that never sleeps." Yuna's voice was soft as she recalled the memories from so long ago.
no subject
Well..if Billy had heard about a city like this, he probably would've remembered it too. It seemed like a technological paradise.

"We didn't have formal classes where I'm from. I learned because I met someone from that time period." They didn't have classes or schools in her world, it was set up as an apprentice system where someone would learn by doing and eventually take the teachers place.

He was picturing a scholar from this ancient past...certainly nowhere near the truth.

She walked in a semi-circle before turning back to Billy with a smile. "It only has happened a handful of times. I only know because I am a summoner as well." A summoner with out her summons.

She paused and laced her fingers behind her bad. "Where are you from?"
no subject
No, nothing could quite match Zanarkand. "Magic wasn't really part of our world until about a year ago. We faced a hostile invasion from a sorceress, and I was among the group chosen to fight her."
He shrugged nonchalantly. There really was no point in keeping his mask a secret anymore.

Yuna banished the thoughts from her mind and smiled at Billy. "Maybe you can help me practice then? I don't know what else to do while I am here, so I thought I would just practice more."
no subject
He considered her offer and nodded, quick to offer his hand. "Then that settles it. I'll gladly train with you, in the hopes that the next mission has a better ending."

Her eyes looked around them for a moment and seeing the ruins built to their glory in front of her made her a little sad.
