Trouble in the making...

There were many mysteries in the multiverse: Who wrote the book of love? Why do fools fall in love? Who let the dogs out? What would happen if Picard didn’t say “hot” when ordering “tea, Earl Grey, hot”?

One of the things that wasn’t a mystery was how Alec got cigarettes. That just involved sticking his hand into a pocket and pull out a pack. (Why on the other hand was an entirely different matter all together).

Currently he stood in the holodeck smoking a cigarette and studying the Guardian of Forever. The fire detection systems didn’t notice Alec’s smoke because he repressed it. What was the point of being a wizard if he couldn’t control something as menial as a flame? He’d replicated the Guardian to the best of the holodeck’s ability - not using a single bit of his own power in creating the illusion. So, it didn’t have any of its time warping aspects.

The simulation itself might not be dangerous, but some people might be worried about someone with Alec’s talents being interested in it.

While Alec has suppressed the fiery aspects of his smoking, the smell has not been so it drifted into the hallway for other people to smell.

[Sickbay]: Round Fourteen Scans and Vaccinations

If this is your first trip to Sickbay, you may be surprised to see that it's a fairly ordinary-looking hospital. There are no terrifying devices or humming machines you might see in a sci-fi thriller. The biobeds along the walls are equipped with biofunction monitors, but look fairly standard. Instead of silver trays filled with metal tools and sawblades, there are an array of small devices that look as harmless as cell phones. As for the staff, they're all well-groomed and friendly — even the more unusual aliens.

If you're new to the ship, no doubt you've been escorted here by the security team. Nothing to worry about, the doctors just want to make sure you aren't carrying any viruses or are vulnerable to terrible space disease. Once you've been checked over — a quick scan from a tricorder and any necessary vaccines — you'll be free to go. Lollipops are optional.

"All right, step on in," one of them calls out as you enter. "Don't be afraid. It's just a scan and a hypospray, nothing to worry about."
